9 charming ideas from Jean Danker and Glenn Ong’s intimate wedding at Sofitel Sentosa
Class 95 Radio Presenter Jean Danker and One FM 91.3 Radio Presenter Glenn Ong made their union official in an intimate wedding that was modern and simple, just the way they like it.

You had me at hello Glenn and I have known each other since I was 16 and he was 24. I had just joined 987FM (then known as Perfect 10) as a part-timer whilst studying mass communications at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and he had just joined full time with the station. We only got together more than a decade later. We were both single at that time, and he asked me out one day. The rest is history!

I think I wanna marry you The proposal was simple and sweet. Glenn and I were at my parents’ place for dinner when at some point in the night, he asked me to go into one of the rooms, and there he was on not one, but both knees with a ring in his hand and a big, gleeful smile on his face. It took me a moment to realise what he was doing, but of course, I said yes!

Signed sealed delivered I’ve always wanted a smallish, cozy wedding. Which is why we picked a ballroom that could only fit a maximum of 25 tables. The most important thing for us was for our guests to have a good time! The biggest priority for us, was for our wedding to have a fun, party atmosphere, and I think we did it!

Baby you’ve got style There was no particular theme. We had the solemnisation at 6pm, and dinner at 7.30pm. We just wanted something modern, simple, and as fuss free as possible. Guests were asked to come in their “party best” in their invites. But really, we just wanted our loved ones to come in whatever they liked and just enjoy themselves.

Words do matter For me, the most memorable bit was hearing Glenn’s vows during the solemnisation. We both wrote our own vows, and his was tremendously heartfelt. I was very touched when I heard it at the ceremony. I also enjoyed delivering my speech during the dinner – that was a lot of fun!
It’s done! I was very, very happy and grateful for a wonderful party when it all ended! I was also relieved that I could finally get out of my sky high heels! I had no regrets about anything. There were little things that didn’t go quite right that night, but they were totally expected. I also didn’t sweat the small stuff during the planning process and on the day itself, so I would do it exactly this way again!
