Dr Jart+’s V7 Pink Toning

1/12

Writer Cassandra says:

Dr Jart+ V7 Pink Toning has been my go-to daytime moisturiser for the last couple of months. Since I started incorporating it into my daily routine, my skin has been looking less clogged and clearer of blemishes.

This lightweight vitamin-enriched cream brightens, moisturises and color-corrects red spots and doesn’t leave my skin looking oily – essentially everything I look for in a reliable daily moisturiser.

$77 for 50ml, available at Sephora.

Herbivore Botanicals Lapis - Oil Balancing Azulene Infused Facial Oil

2/12

Stylist and writer Michelle says:

If you’re in the midst of a breakout battle, consider (honestly, it’s a must-buy for me) this face oil. It relies on azulene, which gives it that brilliant blue hue, to reduce inflammation and fight bacteria.

I applied this at night and my skin was remarkably calmer the next morning. It might seem pricey for a small bottle but a little goes a long way, and its efficacy is well-worth the price tag.

Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Oil Balancing Azulene Infused Facial Oil, $41 for 8ml or $112 for 50ml from Sephora.

Fresh’s Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask

3/12

Writer Cassandra says:

Promising next-level overnight hydration recovery, I’m pleased to report that Fresh’s Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask does delivers on its promise and more.

This unique two-step multi-mask soothes and calms the skin down with its first step of the rosewater Essence Mask Apply that also contains damask rose extract and hyaluronic acid, while the second step of applying the Gel-Cream Mask Massage locks in moisture and delivers deep hydration through the night.

I use this whenever my skin needs a quick and effective boost of hydration. It also leaves me with skin that is soft and supple the next day.

$80 for 70ml, available at Fresh boutiques, Sephora and Takashimaya Department Store.

Tatcha The Essence

4/12

Writer Cassandra says:

To be honest, I didn’t really see any visible results immediately after using it. Now, more than midway through the bottle, I can see the subtle, but significant changes this product has made to my skin.

My skin looks brighter and plumper and overall, has a more even skin tone.

The essence contains a winning combination of Japanese superfoods: Uji green tea with antioxidants that promotes anti-aging; Okinawa Mozuku algae that helps with skin water retention and renewal with polysaccharides, as well as Akita rice that nourishes and moisturizes the skin with essential proteins.

$135 for 150ml, available at Sephora.

Chantecaille Just Skin

5/12

Stylist and writer Michelle says:

If you're after decent coverage (not for those looking for a heavy-duty base) and a dewy finish that doesn't feel oily, this gets my vote. It glides on perfectly and evened out my skin tone for a smoother and more uniform look.

Plus, it's a three-in-one product that doesn't just boost hydration, it offers sun protection and powerful antioxidant benefits thanks to thyme and Butterfly Bush extract.

$126, available in Alabaster, Bliss, Vanilla, Nude, Glow, Tan, Wheat, at the Chantecaille counter at Takashimaya.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Intense Reset Concentrate

6/12

Stylist and writer Michelle says:

If you ever need to fake a good night’s rest (with wedding prep in tow, I’m sure it’s pretty often), reach for the newly launched Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Intense Reset Concentrate.

This overnight treatment has a silky texture and does exactly like its name promises. It gives stressed skin much needed TLC, reduces irritation and repairs, thanks to a patented Chronolux™S.O.S. Technology and a formulation of stabilised salicylic acid and resveratrol (a natural antioxidant that tackles ageing on a cellular level, and protects against damage).

With a multi-molecular weight hyaluronic acid complex (15 times more concentrated in this serum than the regular version, according to the brand) it seriously bumps up hydration for a plumped up complexion, too.

$140 for 20ml, available at Estee Lauder stores, counters and Sephora.

Origins Mega Mushroom Mega Mushroom Relief & Resilience range

7/12

Stylist and writer Michelle says:

Mushroom-derived skincare might not sound the most glamorous but mushrooms are known for their potent anti-inflammatory properties that can help to improve the appearance of acne, redness and even eczema. And the Mega Mushroom Relief & Resilience Power Duo (Soothing Treatment Lotion and Advanced Face Serum) definitely helped keep my skin calm and soft with daily use.

For extra pampering, put on the Soothing Sheet mask that has a dual chamber delivery system that separates the mask and formula (kind of fun), so it's only activited prior to use. It's infused with the mushroom blend, as well as cordyceps and sea buckthorn which reportedly soothes irritation. Best of all? Three minutes is all it takes.

Soothing Treatment Lotion ($63 for 200ml), Advanced Face Serum ($125 for 50ml), and Soothing Sheet mask ($54 for a box of six), available at Origins stores, selected department stores and Sephora.

BIODERMA’s Hydrabio H20 Micellar Solution

8/12

Writer Cassandra says:

Fun fact: I went trekking in India in the summer and BIODERMA Hydrabio H20 Micellar Solution was one of the only two skincare products I was using throughout the trip, with the other being sunblock.

I used this in place of a cleanser and makeup remover, and my skin was kept breakout-free despite the daily exposure to dirt, sweat and other environmental impurities.

The hype is real simply because this dermatological micellar water works.

BIODERMA’s micellar solution stands out because it uses glycerol ester – a fatty acid ester that is similar to the skin’s composition, rendering it suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

It also uses a highly purified water that offers the highest level of chemical and microbiological purity. Meaning, you don’t even need to wash it off.

$15.90 for 100ml, $28.90 for 250ml, $41.90 for 500ml, available at Guardian, Watsons, Robinsons, Lazada Official Store, Unity, Welcia-BHG.

Dr. Roebucks Kibosh weightless foaming cleanser

9/12

Stylist and writer Michelle says:

This newly launched cleanser is targeted at oily/combination skin (that makes many of us, especially in our climate!), they are designed to be lightweight and fast-absorbing. I was particularly impressed with the cleanser, which dissolves makeup instantly - no water needed. The foam doesn't strip skin of moisture either - my skin was soft and bouncy after rinsing!

$35 for 100ml, available at Sephora.

L’Occitane Divine Youth Oil

10/12

Stylist and writer Michelle says:

Just smoothing this award-winning oil over my face already felt like ultra-luxurious - and no greasiness! This potent concoction of eight essential oils, including the Immortelle essential oil, extracted from the French brand's Corsican Immortelle flowers, seeps into my skin and had it feeling nourished and velvety. Use it before or add it to your serum (or a couple of drops to your foundation) for an extra dewy and radiant complexion.

$178 for 30ml from L'Occitane boutiques.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream

11/12

Associate art director Wendy says:

The lightweight gel-like texture isn't thick but feels super moisturising. It's lightweight enough for the day while offerng ample hydration for the night. Plus, it gets my skin prepped for makeup, too!

First Aid Beauty’s Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream

12/12

Writer Cassandra says:

For sufferers of visible fine lines and wrinkles under your eyes, First Aid Beauty Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream actually does a great job at keeping them at bay.

The creamy yet lightweight formula contains microencapsulated retinol that helps stimulate natural collagen production and cellular turnover, while tri-molecular weight hyaluronic acid moisturizes and plumps up the skin, both of which reduce the appearance of the lines.

The list of impressive ingredients include caffeine that reduces puffiness and FAB’s Skin Saver Complex with it’s blend of ceremides, vitamins C and E and more.

Surprisingly, the retinol did not irritate the skin around my eyes. It also provides just the perfect amount of moisture, and makes for a good base before makeup application.

$65 for 15ml, available at Sephora.
