#1 Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, $32

1/10

As one who prefers brush tips as they don't drag across the eyelid as much, the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner is a winner. It glides on easily, dispensing highly pigmented black lines.

#2 Eyeko Sport Waterproof Eyeliner, $27

2/10

If you don't obsess much over having a precise line, the Eyeko Sport Waterproof Eyeliner is perfect. Line the eyes and smudge it upwards for a worn-in look, and pair it with the Sport Waterproof Mascara for an eye look that stays all day.

#3 Hourglass Voyeur Waterproof Liquid Liner, $56

3/10

The Hourglass Voyeur Waterproof Liquid Liner is the priciest in this list, but we can see why. Its ultra-soft and super precise tip dispenses super dark pigments without tugging skin, and you can achieve the thinnest of lines that doesn't smudge.

#4 Lancome Grandiose Bendable Liquid Eyeliner, $45

4/10

The bendable tip might look hard to control, but it actually allows you full maneuverability so you can achieve the perfect flick.

#5 M.A.C Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Stick

5/10

We gave this a go during a pretty intense yoga class and it didn't disappoint. While the rest of our makeup was smudging and melting off, the eyeliner refused to move.

#6 Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner, $43

6/10

If you haven't realised, Make Up For Ever is the go-to makeup brand for synchronised swimmers, and its makeup products are known for their ability to stay put, even when submerged in water. The Aqua liner simply would not budge.

#7 Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner, $38

7/10

The Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner comes in the prettiest pastel colours in line with this season's trends. We tested it out on our hands, and it was really hard to remove, even with makeup removers.

#8 NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner, $40

8/10

This cult favourite goes on creamy, delivering intense colours (our favourite is 'Abbey Road', a gorgeous turquoise) that's super long-lasting.

#9 Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen, $39

9/10

Cat-eye connoisseurs know when an eyeliner is good - it needs to deliver intense colour, with control over how thick or thin you want the line to be, and shouldn't tug at the skin. The Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen checks all the boxes for being a smudge-proof eyeliner.

#10 Urban Decay Razor Sharp Water Resistant Longwear Liquid Eyeliner, $35

10/10

Between all the different variations of eyeliners - pencils, brush pens, felt tips and gel - we think the liquid version is the hardest to control, but it turns out this one by Urban Decay makes lining the lash line a lot easier than we think. Firstly, you can control the amount of product you want, so you don't have to go over the area multiple times. Plus, it doesn't tug at the skin, and comes in so many gorgeous brights and metallic shades.
