A homage to love, beauty and the body, Octopus is a mesmerising dance fantasy of eight tableaux by the acclaimed award-winning French choreographer Philippe Decouflé. With 8 dancers and 2 musicians who play music live, the themes of black/white, beauty/sensuality, jealousy/desire and life/death are cleverly interwoven, set against sublime lighting effects and projection. Filmed in real time by infrared cameras, the movements of dancers are converted into projections of colored images as if painted live by a magic paintbrush.

Touted by The New York Times as having “the novel idea that dance can be fun”, Philippe Decouflé is known for his riotous visual imagination and penchant for mixing dance, circus, music hall, film and theatre. With his eye for visual play, he has also been invited by two renowned companies known also for their flair for illusion to create productions for them – Cirque du Soleil and Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris. He founded Decouflé Company of Arts in 1983 which has toured worldwide, and will have its long-awaited performance in Singapore this April.

Be tickled and enthralled by choreographic poems of love duets, mysterious creatures, skeletons and high heels!
