These days, getting a long weekend off from work feels like a total treat. So, what should you do with the extra 24 hours given to you off work? Here are some things business speaker Michael Kerr told Business Insider.
Unplug from technology
Three-day weekends rarely appear so when they do, make sure you’re utilizing it well. Take this time to relax and indulge in some time away from your email and social media accounts. While checking your phone once in a while is perfectly fine, don’t spend all your time holed up on scrolling through social media and don’t check your work emails – ever!
Spend time with loved ones
When we say spend time with your loved ones, we don’t mean just physically being there with your loved ones. We mean actually engaging in time spent with them.
So whether it’s half a day out to the zoo or even just having dinner with them, put away your mobile devices, turn off the television and spend time with your loved ones.
Indulge in a hobby that fuels your passion
So whenever you get a chance, make sure to spend a few hours indulging in a hobby you’re passionate about. It’ll help you relax and recharge mentally.
If, like most of us, you’ve got an office job and very little time to head out and get active, use the long weekend to do something you normally wouldn’t do.
So this weekend, make it a point to go hiking somewhere in Macritchie or try out a fun sport.
Plan for the upcoming week
But only do this on Sunday. Make the most of the two days prior to really indulge in some relaxation and quality time with the people you love.
