There are shoes that look good but don’t feel good, and there are shoes that are the exact opposite. Ecco’s newest Crepetray collection for S/S’18 are none of those – thanks to the brand’s in-house tech, the four styles in the collection are build to be both comfortable and stylish.

Developed with the Danish brand’s own Fluidform technology, the heart of the collection is the special crepe rubber sole that is reportedly lighter and softer than conventional crepe rubber soles, and also excels at absorbing shock and providing grip, without getting sticky in the heat or stiff in the cold. For even more comfort, they are made with an anatomical last that follows the natural curves of the foot, resulting in a moulded footbed with a rounded heel.

Of the four styles, our favourite is the fun, colour-changing Derby: made with perforated heat-reactive Kromatafor leather, the sneaker transforms at temperatures 28 deg C and above, turning from black to red (for the ladies version) or blue (for the men’s version). The shoe reacts instantly to direct sunlight or our touch, and gradually to ambient heat. It fully transforms into its base colour (red or blue) at 35 deg C. $219.90-$379.90.
