Singapore Biennale 2011
In its 3rd running year, the Singapore Biennale 2011 features 161 works by 63 artists from 30 countries around the world. The 4 exhibition venues are SAM and SAM at 8Q, the National Museum of Singapore, Marina Bay and interestingly enough, Old Kallang Airport, each having their own character – Housing Development Board flats, shopping centres and night markets, city life and international air and sea ports respectively.

Far East Movement Free Wired Tour
You may only recognize Asian American electro hip-hop group Far East Movement from their hit single ‘Like A G6’, but in truth the quartet had already been featured in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and television shows like Entourage and Gossip Girl. Having toured with the likes of Lady Gaga, N.E.R.D and La Roux, perhaps there is some backing to their claims of being that fly.

Southeast Asian Film Festival

Other films include The Blue Mansion by Glen Goei, Red Dragonflies by Liao Jiekai and The Tiger Factory by Woo Ming Jin.

Yoga From The Heart
Yoga In The Park is run by Sabina Fernandez, a magazine-editor-turned-certified-yoga-instructor, and it is exactly as its name suggests – yoga done in the great outdoors. This Saturday’s class is slightly different, in that Sabina has decided to make it a fundraising event where all proceeds go to Globalgiving, which is working with the International Medical Corps to provide earthquake and tsunami relief in Japan. The 90-minute class will close with kirtan, a type of mantra, by jazz singer Alemay Fernandez. Ten per cent of any private classes or ten-class pass purchased between now and March 19 will also be donated. Spaces are limited.
