The week is finally coming to a close! We don’t know about you, but this feels like one of the most tiring weeks we’ve ever had. At this point, nothing’s better than a quick, relaxing trip to rejuvenate your senses - admit it, we all need this once in awhile.

Whether it’s a solo trip, or a weekend getaway with your friends or family - these places will have something for you to do. If all you want is to sit around in a hotel room all day, then we have the place for you too!

We’ll narrow things down, so all you need to do is whip out your card and book your flight (or ferry) out of here. Of course these places are perfect for longer holidays too.

For retail therapy and food galore

Fly over to the heart of Malaysia’s capital and book a night at Impiana KLCC. If you’re a solo traveller, opt for the Orchid floor which has rooms dedicated just for ladies. It’s got all you’d dream for - a nice big bed with a pillow menu, a bathtub with complimentary bath salts and even a yoga mat.

Take a quick 10-15 minute walk to Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) or Pavillion, which are both famous for their mid and high-end retailers like Alexander McQueen, Nars and Makeup For Ever.

If shopping isn’t your thing, then head to the hotel’s Swasana Spa, which won the World’s Luxury Spa awards in 2016 and HAPA Spa of the Year since 2016. For more indulgence, visit one of the many manicure bars at the top floor of KLCC.

Foodies, head to Petaling Jaya or Jalan Alor to indulge your senses. If you’re feeling adventurous, ask the concierge for their recommendations. After all, the locals know best. If you’d like to try a local label, give your taste buds a treat at the Aseana Cafe at KLCC.

For romance AND thrilling activities too

Take a quick ferry over to Batam and head to Turi Beach. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of Batam’s streets, Turi Beach will give you all you need to tone down and breathe. The Turi Beach resort is well, right next to a beach. So you can sit on the sand and feel your troubles fly with the wind.

There’s a wide variety of cuisines for your choosing too - local Indonesian treats, Western, Chinese and even Japanese Teppanyaki. You could also choose to treat yourself and watch as the Chef prepares your food for you. If you’re with your beau, book a romantic dinner by the beach.

Now if you’re a thrill seeker, you’d be glad to know that there’s a whole list of activities for you - from wave boarding, to hiking and snorkeling. Of course the best thing would be to book a relaxing massage at their Tspa as you hear the sounds of waves crashing.

For history and asam fish-lovers

Have a roadtrip to Malacca and book one of their quaint boutique hotels, or head to the Rucksack Caratel Garden Wing. Their rooms will tempt you stay in the entire weekend or swing on the hammocks outside. I mean how often do we get to try hammocks right? Located in the heart of Malacca, this hotel would be perfect for those who like spontaneity.

Its surroundings are rich in history so you could either head to attractions like the Melaka Sultanate Palace or go on a river cruise, where you get to see its historical attractions without having to walk too much. There are plenty of buildings for you to visit, but don’t forget to try their fresh watermelon blend, chendol, or the famous Klebang Original Coconut Shake.

You can also explore Jonker Street as it comes to live at night, and go for a hunt for the best asam fish or chicken rice balls. The best way to explore Malacca is by just walking around and seeing what you stumble upon. Just be sure to pack enough cash and energy!

For instant relaxation

We have to admit, sometimes even we are a bit lazy to pack and book flights, but we’re still desperate for that break. So if you just want a place for the weekend where you don’t have to worry about messy beds and just not do anything at all, go for an impromptu staycation.

For some peace and tranquility in busy Singapore, head to Lloyd’s Inn which transports you to Bali. The serene Inn has minimalist, white-themed rooms which are filled with natural light. We’d say the best part is the private bathroom which has an outdoor bath or shower. Hop into the pool for a relaxing swim and walk to the nearby Killiney Kopitiam for some local delights. If you desire some retail therapy, take a quick 10 minute walk to 313@Somerset and Orchard Gateway.
