Kat Von D #Everlasting Lip Pop-up

A post shared by Kat Von D Beauty (@katvondbeauty) on

It’s been a year since Kat Von D Beauty was first introduced to Southeast Asia and in celebration of that, a pop-up store is set in place. All things dedicated to #EverlastingLip, the cult favourite matte liquid lipstick remains as one of the more moisturising formula we have encountered. It’s true, our beauty editors swear by it.

Located at Level 1 Atrium of Ion Orchard, the pop-up showcases never-before-seen shades of the bestselling Everlasting Liquid Lipstick and a spanking new collection of Everlasting Lip Liner to complement the former. Needless to say, the liners come in iconic, must-have shades like Lolita, Bow N Arrow and Underage Red.

If you’re too spoiled for choice, you can experiment with the colours and swatch it at the Lip Bar. On Saturday, two members from Kat Von D Beauty’s Artistry Collective will be sharing their lip art tips in a live demonstration. So beauty junkies, we know where to find you.

The Pinholes live at Intermission Bar

If you’re a fan of Edgar Wright’s Shaun of the Dead, then quickly grab your tickets at The Projector (our favourite alternative cinema) but you HAVE to stay on after the screening. Why? There will be a late night gig at the foyer by The Pinholes.

For the uninitiated, The Pinholes is a local band (we’ve got some pretty snazzy local music playlists for you) known for their quirky eyewear, mopping hair and retro outfit. Their music is a feel-good mix of classic rock ‘n’ roll, funk, soul and soul, all brought together with a generous dash of nostalgia and loads of tropical vibe. So if you are around the corner or haven’t made any plans on Saturday night, we think The Projector might be the place for you. Bonus: Admission is free, what’s stopping you now?

Where: The Projector, Golden Mile Complex, 6001 Beach Road, S(199589)

When: 11:30pm, Sat 22 July, 2017

Sunset Sessions at Ce La Vi

If you’re more about the groovy deep house music than oldies, then keep your Sunday evening free. You will love Ce La Vi’s signature Sunset Sessions where you get to chill at their lounge, oversee Singapore’s cityscape from the 57th level and drink some champagne with deep house-influenced grooves by a live Dj. If you prefer somewhere less crowded, we’ve got you sorted out with this guide to scenic views in Singapore.

Helming the decks is Mohamed Noor, a multi-talented percussionist and drummer who started his journey with music since the age of five. We suggest heading there just around dusk, so you can catch the magnificent sunset in all its glory. Though you have to pay a $20 admission fee, you can redeem food and beverages with it.

Open House Yoga

A post shared by Yogabar (@yoga_bar) on

In light of Hari Raya, The Yoga Bar is offering up the studio for a day of free yoga. This is to bring everyone together and have an afternoon of fun. The Yoga Bar’s mantra is to make the practise of yoga accessible to all by providing a regular and safe space to do so.

If you’re already an avid practitioner, you can spend your Sunday with like-minded people. If you’re not (maybe, try out these alternative studios as well?), this could be your stepping stone to it! All you have to do is bring an open mind and some baked cookies for their potluck session.

Terrarium Workshop: Garden with Style

Plants are the ‘it’ decor of the year and we have some useful care tips. If you don’t have a plant yet but are interested in getting your hands on some, head to Epiphyte this Sunday for a Terrarium workshop conducted by Ricky Law from Plantholic. While you’re there, we highly suggest having Epiphyte’s spiked galaxy cake because they are so pretty to look at and yummy to have.

The workshop will provide you with all the apparatus and knowledge you need, from handcrafted geometric glass containers to the relatively easy aftercare. If you’re interested, quickly grab your tickets because the class is limited to 15 registrants. In the event that you didn’t make it, we do have an easy guide on how to make your own terrarium.

Basic Brush Lettering + Foil

While we are on the topic of workshops, here is another one you can attend. Learn the basics of brush lettering and ace that calligraphy game at The Basic Brush Lettering + Foil class happening this Sunday as well. A brush pen will be provided, all you’ve got to do is to come prepared with your favourite quote. Aaaaand you’re now ready to stand up from the crowd with some customisation on your clothes.
