Nothing else marks Singapore’s independence day more strongly than the magnificent fireworks that light up Singapore’s night sky. But if you think that you have seen more than your fair share of fireworks, the newest show by City Square Mall might surprise you.
Staying true to their eco-friendly roots, City Square Mall has found a way to give its shoppers an authentic National Day Celebration – complete with “fireworks” indoors.
Instead of smoky pyrotechnics, bursts of 1,000 pictures will simulate the sight of fireworks indoors. Those who dislike squeezing through the outdoor crowds can enjoy the eye-catching myriad of colours, lights, and sounds of Singapore’s first indoor fireworks in air-conditioned comfort.
The elaborate mosaic will consist of photographs of Singapore and Singaporeans, courtesy of Flickr by Yahoo! Each photo will make up a pixel in the 12-minute display, which would be beamed onto a giant screen at City Square Mall.
Witness this memorable event as Flickr, together with City Square Mall, attempt to make it into the Singapore Book of Records for putting on the first indoor fireworks display in our island state.
Soak in the National Day festivities with family and friends at the photo booths at the event and take home giveaways. Look forward to a night of merriment as live bands and dance groups take the stage as the evening’s entertainment.
