K-Pop: SHINee and Girls' Generation headed to Singapore

Catch popular bands SHINee and Girls’ Generation in their first solo concerts in Singapore

If the names Minho, Taemin, Onew, Jonghyun and Key mean anything to you, you’d probably know that together, they form SHINee, one of the most popular Korean boy bands today.

Before you start screaming, you should also know that these five talented lads will be popping by Singapore for their very first solo concert here come September.

Not only is it their first concert in Singapore, this will be the only stop in Southeast Asia. Since the announcement, concert organisers have received more than 800 requests from fans in Singapore and across the region.

Having played to full houses everywhere in the region from Seoul to Tokyo, including a record-breaking feat by selling out all tickets in Taipei within an hour, we can bet our bottom dollar that tickets here have been selling like hotcakes as well.

Creative Director of Running Into The Sun, Beatrice Chia Richmond says, "We're excited to bring SHINee's Own First Concert to Singapore. The concert will be a vibrant mix of excitement, splendour and pure pleasure. The combination of stage effects and heart-thumping songs will be a two-and-a-half-hour adrenaline rush for fans and concert-goers."

Boasting a production value of approximately $1.7 million, with stage effects including wire action, lasers and pyrotechnics timed to perfection and sprawling LED display screens, fans will get nothing less than a fabulous display from the boys.

Guys, if you’re feeling left out of all the action, don’t fret as nine of the most beautiful girls from Korea will be headed our way too.

Amidst a whole lot of swirling rumours and speculation, concert organisers Running Into The Sun have confirmed that they will be bringing in Korea’s most popular girl group – Girls' Generation or popularly known as SNSD - to Singapore for their first solo concert.

The concert featuring Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun is slated for February 2012 and tickets are expected to go on sale at the end of 2011.

Creative Director of Running Into The Sun, Beatrice Chia-Richmond, is excited to bring a female Korean girl group for the first time.

“Now the guys can’t say they’re left out. We’re extremely thrilled to bring Girls’ Generation for their first solo concert in Singapore. Concert-goers will be mesmerised by the girls’ synchronised dance moves and heart-melt-worthy winks.”

We are stoked that more K-Pop bands are headed our way and we can’t wait to catch both SHINee and Girls' Generation up close and personal and bop to the beat of songs like “Lucifer”, “Hoot” and “Gee” made popular by both bands.
