Craving for roti prata, laska or some carrot cake? Satisfy your cravings with a feast of favourite Singapore delights from the best hawkers on the island from July 12-20, 2013, at Singapore Favourite Food Village 2013.
Indulge in a 10-day food marathon with the Singapore Favourite Food Village (SFF Village) organised by the Singapore Food & Beverage Alliance (SFBA) and held as part of the festivities of the 20th anniversary of the Singapore Food Festival. Be ready to discover new favourites and savour beloved oldies.
Singapore Favourite Food village is a perfect introduction to the local food scene for tourists and foreigners alike. It simplifies Singapore’s extensive list of local delicacies by condensing it into 40 dishes cooked by the best of the trade. If you are hosting foreign friends this July, don’t miss the great opportunity to boast about our local food at this one stop food village!

It’s likely that many of you will recognise the participating hawkers and eateries. The SFBA organising committee and advisory panel chose 20 of these vendors via the public’s popular vote out of 60 shortlisted eateries. The other half of the vendors consist of well-liked local hawkers and diners. The 40 dishes taking centre stage include BBQ Stingray from East Coast BBQ seafood, Curry Fish Head by Muthu’s Curry, Chilli Crabs from House of Seafood, and many more favourites.

“As much as Singaporeans love their food, many are often stumped when asked to name 20 local dishes. We hope to increase awareness about Singapore’s culinary heritage through this 10-day extravaganza,” says Mr Luke Lee, Director of SFBA.
Besides joining in the gluttony, the public can also pick up cooking skills from cooking demonstrations held at the village. Celebrated Singapore Chef Eric Neo will be kicking off the event with the first cooking demonstration.
Don’t worry about handling too much cash as the Singapore Favorite Food Village will go cashless this year.
Visitors can pay with a collectible limited edition Singapore Favourite Food 2013 FlashPay Card that can be purchased at $12 ($5 non-refundable card cost and $7 stored value).
