For starters, here’s a little primer on cold-pressed juices. Cold-pressing a fruit or vegetable allows you to extract all the liquid you can from it. In addition, the process doesn’t use any heat or oxygen, which means little nutrients are lost during the pressing. You’re left with a juice that’s full of essential enzymes nutrients and minerals, which makes for a beverage that’s so much healthier than a sugary juice!
Singaporean couple Sherie and Marcus started the brand Ayomo with the aim to create healthy juice alternatives that are accessible as well. They’re based in Melbourne now, and use incredibly fresh produce direct from their farm contacts in Australia. The produce is pressed as soon as it’s available, and the juices are shipped to Singapore overnight in time to reach your doorstep the very next day. This beats produce that can take days, weeks, or even months to reach our shores.
The super yummy recipes are a hit throughout Melbourne and are concocted by Sherie, who has a Food Science and Nutrition background.
We’ve tried most of the flavours for ourselves – there are juices for metabolism, inflammation, digestion, hangovers, and even a great energy boost – and could quite honestly drink these every day for the rest of our lives!
If you’re looking to give your diet a boost of nutrition in the form of delicious and super fresh cold pressed juice, Ayomo has three subscription plans you can choose from: $60 a week for eight bottles, $108 a week for 16 bottles, or $196 a week for 32 bottles. At the lowest tier, it works out to about $7.50 a bottle. If you think about it, it comes up to about the same amount you’d spend on a cold pressed juice in Singapore that might have subpar ingredients, or even your favourite sugary drink from any number of international coffee chains.
I’d recommend splitting the eight bottle plan with a friend or your significant other, because you might not want to be spending on or drinking that many bottles a week by yourself.
