Marina One is one of the relatively newer office buildings and residences in Singapore, having launched just this January. It’s architecturally beautiful, with rice paddy field-inspired floors, verdant greenery all around, and plenty of open spaces to just chill.

While you’ll find plenty of typical office chow (meaning the quintessential poke shop, grain bowl joints, and coffee stops), Marina One is also home to a variety of new cafes and restaurants worth checking out.

Scroll down to see the options.

Wakanui Grill Dining

Wakanui is a Tokyo- born steakhouse which serves ocean beef from New Zealand – named so as the cows are led to graze on pastures near the sea.

You’ll find Wakanui in a large glass capsule on the fourth floor which overlooks Marina One’s ‘green heart’ – the tropical core of the building that’s full of lush plants. It’s a pretty place to bring a date.

Wakanui’s totally for you if you’re into staying away from fatty meats, but want to enjoy the robust flavours of steak. The meat is packed with protein and seared to perfection using Japanese grilling techniques.

In addition to the beef, try the Wakanui Spring Lamb Chops. They’re so delicate and tender you could just pick it up and eat it with your hands, no knife needed.

We recommend going to Wakanui Grill Dining for: Business meals, date nights, and healthy meals.

Wakanui Grill Dining is on the 4th floor of The Heart (East Tower) of Marina One.
Opening hours: 11.30am – 3pm and 5.30pm – 11pm.

Workspace Espresso Bar

What’s an office building without a grain bowl place? Workspace Espresso Bar by Cedele fits that niche well with a good variety of grain bowls that are inspired by Middle Eastern and Asian flavours.

You can pick a bowl from the menu or build one with all your favourite things in it. Each signature bowl comes packed with meats, crisp greens, nuts and one dressing to pull it all together.

Take for example, the Morrish and Spice bowl (pictured) which comes with generous stacks of chicken fillet, chickpeas, beetroot hummus, butter bean tagine, tomato basil salad, and a scattering of nutritious seeds as a topping.

The portions are generous, and the food is wholesome. You won’t need coffee to combat a food coma as you’ll feel nourished, but not overfed. Still, if you would like to enjoy a cup of brew, try their signature coffee which is a blend of two Brazilian origin beans.

We recommend going to Workspace Espresso Bar for: Healthy meals and lunch breaks.

Workspace Espresso Bar is at Basement 2 of The Heart (East Tower) of Marina One.
Opening hours: 8am – 7pm.

Majestic Restaurant

This is one of the more anticipated openings this year. Award-winning Majestic Restaurant re-opened this January and made its new home at one of the glass capsules at Marina One.

It’s loved for its contemporary Chinese food, every dish of which is well-planned and executed to bring out the best of Chinese, Western and other Asian cuisines. Take for example the smoked French corn-fed chicken with salt and hickory, or stewed mee sua with crab roe gravy.

One more thing to look out for is the new dim sum menu, something the previous outlet at the New Majestic Hotel was not able to offer due to space constraints.

As you might expect, it is often busy, so make sure you get a reservation before you head there.

We recommend going to Majestic Restaurant for: Business meals, family dinners or large group outings.

Majestic Restaurant is on the 4th floor of The Heart (East Tower) of Marina One.
Opening hours: 11.30am – 3pm  and 5.45pm – 10pm.

The Spot

The Spot is a cafe-restaurant-bar that also has a cigar lounge. The food is a mix of contemporary European and South East Asian fusion food.

So, the pork cheeks are grilled bak kwa style, dusted with pork floss, and accompanied with potato mousseline and caramel vinegar. And for dessert, something like the sea coconut brulee with sour cream ice cream and lime foam is the norm.

If you’re not one to relish experimental cuisine with unorthodox ingredient pairings, The Spot also has more mainstream dishes with their own twist, like the local skate (pictured).

This is basically our local dish of mui fan (seafood rice soaked in fish gravy) with a complete overhaul. It’s made with pearl rice risotto, blanched lettuce, and a slab of skate with a mound of ikura balanced on top.

We recommend going to The Spot for: Business meals and adventurous food experiences.

The Spot is on the 1st floor of The Heart (East Tower) of Marina One.
Opening hours: 7.30am – 11pm.

Nude Grill & Nude Chill

These sister establishments by Nude are perfectly complementary. One is a restaurant that turns into a watering hole at night, and the other is a grill restaurant.

At Nude Grill, you can grab a bite of your favourite type of meat – cooked fine-dining style, then served as a one-plate-meal.

One of the favourites here is the Pork Jowl, which has been affectionately dubbed as “ang moh char siew”. It is a medley of celeriac purée, szechuan peppercorns, and fermented tamarind foam on tender pork jowl that’s been roasted over a fire for more than a day.

If you’re visiting on Friday, maybe pop over to Nude Chill after your meal to take advantage of the happy hour. You get four drinks for the price of three from 5pm – 7pm.

The tipples there range from craft beers, to wines, spirits, and cocktails like Andibiotics, an artful mixture of Rittenhouse rye, smoked maple and angostura and chocolate bitters.

We recommend going to Nude Grill & Nude Chill for: Lunch breaks, dates, and after-work drinks. Nude Chill is also great for breakfast.

Nude Grill and Nude Chill located side by side on the 1st floor of The Heart (East Tower) of Marina One.
Nude Grill opening hours: 11.30am – 9pm.
Nude Chill opening hours: 8am -11am, 11.30am – 2pm, and 6pm to late.

Men-Men Tai

This cozy 15-seater ramen bar is a great option if you want healthier ramen.

Don’t expect fatty slabs of char siew, a thick layer of chilli oil or starchy curls of noodles that thicken the broth. You’ll get lean char siew, clear broth, and thinner noodles that are lighter on the palate.

In addition to the typical tonkotsu, spicy miso and shoyu broths, you could also try the more unique sardine and red snapper ones.

We recommend going to Men-Men Tai for: A quick and simple lunch that is also a healthier choice.

Men-Men Tai is at Basement 2 of The Heart (East Tower) of Marina One.

Get your Korean classics here and then some. There are the usual suspects like bibimbaps, and kimbaps. And there is also hwae dubap – raw fish bibimbap, which is basically the Korean version of a poke bowl or chirashi don.

In Yoli Box’s rendition of hwae dubap, the raw fish is accompanied by vinegared rice, cherry tomatoes, avocados, pickles and the like. The result? A fresh and nutritious bowl that’ll satisfy your cravings for Asian food.

The bowls range from $11 – $15, fairly affordable options, given the area.

Yoli Box is at Basement 2 of The Heart (East Tower) of Marina One.
Opening hours: 11am – 8.30pm.

Anglo Indian Cafe and Bar

Here’s where you can go when you’re craving some spices. If you want to opt for something lighter than the classic staples of briyani, curries, or tandoori chicken, go for the soups or wraps.

We hear the tomato shorba soup (tomato soup laced with a mix of spices) and paneer wrap (cottage cheese cubes rolled in naan) are popular favourites.

Anglo Indian Cafe and Bar is on the 1st floor of The Heart (East Tower) of Marina One.
Opening hours: 11am – 10pm.

We recommend going to Anglo Indian Cafe and Bar for: Lunch breaks and a hearty dinner.

Malaysia Chiak!

This one should be your go-to for flavour packed Malaysian dishes. If you’ve tried Malaysia Chiak! before at any of the other outlets, you would probably know how the dishes are almost as good as the real deal in Malaysia.

At the Marina One branch, the stalls you could try are Yong Peng Fishball Noodles, Penang Hokkien Mee, Hainanese Curry Rice, Kuantan Nasi Lemak, Chilly Ban Mian, and Char Kway Teow.

If you’re dropping by for breakfast, you could also grab a freshly steamed pau from Nam Kee Pau.

End the meal with a large serving of old school Penang Road Chendol as well, served with whole red beans and extra thick jelly noodles.Yum.

We recommend going to Malaysia Chiak! for: A simple but hearty meal at any time of the day, from breakfast to dinner.

Malaysia Chiak! is at Basement 2 of The Heart (East Tower) of Marina One.

The main highlight at Kazu Sushi Grill Sake would be the premium sushi and sashimi from Hokkaido. If you are feeling hungry, go for a donburi set meal.

Stick around for dinner, and you can try the omakase set too. Just make a reservation before you go as it can get packed.

We recommend going to Kazu Sushi Grill Sake for: Business meals, lunch breaks, and dinner.
