Star Awards 2025 is marking its 30th anniversary this year with a celebration that promises to be its most extravagant yet. The 2025 edition of the annual awards show, which honours the best in local Chinese entertainment, will be held at its homeground, The Theatre at Mediacorp on July 6, and promises plenty of surprises in store. The theme this year, titled “Walking Through Time Together” is a heartfelt tribute to those who have journeyed with the annual awards extravaganza since its inauguration in 1994.

Beloved stars from yesteryear, along with rising talents and regional artistes, are set to grace the evening in honour of the show’s 30th anniversary. To mark the milestone, this year’s Star Awards will come with a few surprises. From rule changes that shake up how your favourite stars get nominated, to interactive fan voting (you could actually win a car this time), here’s what you can expect from this year’s star-studded edition.

“Fashion police”

We all know how exciting it is to see our favourite stars dressed to the nines as they grace the red carpet. This year, SA2025 is shaking things up — viewers can now play fashion police by voting for the evening’s Best Dressed via on-screen interactive polls, making it more fun and engaging to be part of the festivities from home.

Backstage LIVE

The spotlight won’t just be on the red carpet this year. In fact, the celebrations will spill over to the Backstage LIVE commentary marathon, where viewers can get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the event, including interviews and candid reactions from the stars.

Post-show party

Much like most Hollywood red carpet events, Mediacorp is bringing back its after-party — marking its long-awaited return since 2019. Expect outfit changes, excited winners, and more glamour even after the final trophy is handed out.
