Scientist for a Day Exhibition
Scientist for a Day is a highly interactive, thinking exhibition with a novel, open-to-all Discover-It-Yourself Laboratory or DIY Lab, staffed by our resident science educator-facilitator(s) and, when available, guest scientists. It is called Scientist For A Day because you- the visitor – get to learn the Scientific Method by interacting with the exhibits sometimes, simply observing what happens – then noticing and defining problems based on what has been observed, and raising various explanations or hypotheses. You are then invited into our open-concept DIY Lab where our facilitator leads you through various experiments using “inquiry-based” guidance. This will not only allow you understand or think about the scientific concepts underlying the experiments, but will also familiarise you with the scientific method as you carry out the experiment(s).

Para//el presents Tiefschwarz With Jeremy Boon
Tune it up a notch as we fly Parallel at Velvet Underground – Dance, filling our humble abode with the taste-making 4/4 sounds that go from deep to soulful with alternative cuts of House, Tech-House and Techno sonic treats. Conjured to circumvent all pretenses and theatrics, Parallel is the party that pilots through the night with fiery claps and all-round quality chops – no more, no less. So come as you are, let’s get with the programme and let’s get Parallel for hours on end. Born and bred in Stuttgart, brothers Ali and Basti Schwarz’s passion for Techno and Deep House flourished their initial experience as DJs and led up to the formation of Tiefschwarz in 1997. Fifteen years on, the duo has released high profile mixes for artists such as The Rapture, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Booka Shade and Plastikman and even founded their own label, Souvenir, along the way. Not letting up on productions, Tiefschwarz commemorated their 10th year with the release of Chocolate, a collaborative album with Santé which features acts like Cassy, Seth Troxler and Dave Aju amongst others, cementing their reputation as an underground powerhouse.
