Workouts will never be boring when you can groove to the music at Zumba classes or get your heart pumping in Bodycombat. To encourage an active lifestyle, Virgin Active gym is organising Workout in the Park, which is an event that runs free mass workout sessions from October to December 2017.

Classes will be held twice weekly at the new Urban Park at Tanjong Pagar Centre, with Bodycombat on Tuesdays and Zumba classes on Saturdays. The nearest station to the park is Tanjong Pagar MRT, a three-minute walk away.

The three-month fitness event kickstarted with a Pulse workout session on October 24, an easy-to-follow dance routine where participants were given glow sticks that you pump in the air while dancing along to party anthems. The club atmosphere with many glow sticks lighting up the night sky made it feel more like a girl’s night out than a workout.


Bodycombat, every Tuesday, 6.30pm

Channel your inner warrior. Bodycombat is a fitness workout with a mix of martial arts that empowers you to bring out your fighting spirit so you can punch and kick like a champion! Great for relieving stress after a long day of sitting at the desk.

Zumba, every Saturday, 10.30am

With its high-energy music and elements of Latin dance, Zumba is a workout for all ages. Take your family down for a sweaty bonding session! This workout will also train your cardio with its fast-paced routine, allowing you to burn up to 600 calories an hour.
