Most couples tying the knot now will have enjoyed songs by those ridiculously popular boybands of the 90s. And although these songs, and the bands, were tailored specifically to pubescent girls back then, their lyrics and hard-to-get-out-of-your-head tunes proved to be a big hit for wedding couples as well.

Here, my 10 favourite songs.

I Swear by All-4-One
Need we say more? Heartfelt lyrics and soulful singing makes this song about promises and love a must-have for any wedding.

This I Promise You by N’Sync
A big hit by one of the biggest boybands of the 90s, this song was released in 2000 and is tailored for weddings. Check out the lines from the song: “And I will take you in my arms And hold you right where you belong Til’ the day my life is through This I promise you”.

I Promise You (With Everything I Am) by Backstreet Boys
There are so many love songs from this boyband that are perfect for your nuptials, but the above mentioned tune is probably the most ideal with lyrics you could adopt for your wedding vows! Other options from the group include Yes I Will, As Long As You Love Me and No One Else Comes Close.

All For Love by Colour Me Badd
The title, and lyrics, border on the cringeworthy; but with the right ambience and mood, and at the right moment (your first dance!), this declaration of love will have your guests dabbing tears away.

I Do (Cherish You) by 98 Degrees
The boyband that came and went in a flash. And probably had the most literal wedding song of all.

I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden
Even I fell in love with this song! How could anyone not?

A Million Love Songs by Take That
Not one of their biggest hits, but this song gets it right in all the right places – touching lyrics, a simple tune and fuss-free arrangements.

I Wanna Grow Old With You & I Do by Westlife
And from the UK we have one of the biggest boybands who was famous for churning out one syrupy love song after another. The titles of the songs above say it all.

Every Day I Love You by Boyzone
“I never thought that dreams came true But you showed me that they do You know that I learn something new Everyday I love you.” – Nuff said.
