Following the announcement of Prince Harry’s upcoming marriage with actress Meghan Markle, the British Royal Family shared on Monday new of another royal engagement.

Princess Eugenie is set to marry her long-time boyfriend of seven years, Jack Brooksbank, in autumn of this year after a surprise lakeside proposal in Nicaragua earlier this month.

Their wedding ceremony will be taking place at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, which is the same venue that will bear witness to Prince Harry’s wedding in May.

The 27 year old princess – daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, and the eighth in line to the throne, met her beau while skiing in the Swiss resort of Verbier.

The couple released their engagement photos following the announcement of their engagement.

Taken in the Picture Gallery at Buckingham Palace, Princess Eugenie wore a chic floral dress by Erdem and her engagement ring, of course.

Her ring – a pink-hued padparadscha sapphire surrounded by diamonds, has been compared to that of her mother, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, who had a red ruby engagement ring surrounded by diamonds.

“What’s amazing about it is that it changes colour from every different angle that you look at it, which is what I think of Eugenie, that she changes color, and is just so amazing,” Brooksbank told BBC.

While the proposal was done without a ring, the couple later designed it together. Diamond experts estimate it to be worth anything from $30,000 to around $150,000.
