The second royal wedding of the year, Princess Eugenie tied the knot to longtime beau Jack Brooksbank on 12 October 2018 in a lavish ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, as well as an evening reception that saw a star-studded guest list. Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Phillip were in attendance, as were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (who are expecting a baby! Read more, here).
Celebrity guests included Naomi Campbell, Robbie Williams, Cara and Poppy Delevingne, Demi Moore and James Blunt. Below, some of the top moments of the celebration. Congratulations!
#1 And the royal bride wore
The custom A-line design created by Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos of British based label Peter Pilotto features a graceful neckline that folds around the shoulders to a low back specially created to show her scar, from a surgery at age 12 to correct scoliosis. It is something she has been helping to raise awareness of over the years. The specially designed fabric featured a number of symbols that are meaningful to Princess Eugenie – Thistle for Scotland, The Shamrock for Ireland, The York Rose for England and The Ivy representing the couple’s home.
#2 Something borrowed, something emerald
Crowning her elegant undone chignon was the emerald and diamond Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara, on loan to her by Her Majesty the Queen. Crafted by French jeweller Boucheron, it’s made in the “kokoshnik” tiara style, first worn by Russia’s Imperial Court in the early 1900s. The centre emerald alone is 93.7 carats.
She paired the look with emerald green earrings, a gift from her now-husband.
#3 Hold the hats
The windy day, thanks to Storm Callum, had guests clutching on to their hats as they made their way to the St. George chapel in Windsor Castle, though most of them looked to be more amused than distraught.
#4 A Great Gatsy moment
Princess Beatrice read a passage from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, and it was mentioned in the Dean of Windsor’s homily – the author’s description of Jay Gatsby’s smile reminded Eugenie of Jack.
#5 Father of the bride’s speech
According to Hello Magazine and Express, Prince Andrew delivered a light-hearted and heartfelt speech that had guests both moved and in stitches. A guest at the reception revealed that he included some great anecdotes from childhood (and one about Jack Brooksbank that had everyone giggling) as well as current affairs, and the dynamics of their relationship. And while the Duke of York isn’t usually a tactile person, he walked over to his new son-in-law and gave him a hug, after saying, “I’m going to break York House rules now”.
#6 The cutest bridal party
The couple had a miniature bridal party, made up of bridesmaids Princess Charlotte, Theodora Williams, Mia Tindall, Savannah and Isla Phillips and Maud Windsor, and pageboys Prince George and Louis de Givenchy. At one point, Savannah Phillips was seen pulling faces to keep her cousin, Prince George, who was cracking up, entertained. How adorable!
#7 The kiss
And of course, the best part of the wedding (or any wedding for that matter)? When the couple lean in for a sweet kiss outside St. George’s Chapel.

#8 The carriage ride
Like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s nuptials in May, the newlyweds went on their first official carriage procession through the town of Windsor following the ceremony.
#9 The wedding cake
Wedding cake designer Sophia Cabot was the royal baker of choice for the big day. She created an autumn-themed three-tiered stunner with lovely floral sugar details and the couple’s initials. It also had three red velvet tiers and two of chocolate sponge cake covered with butter cream and white icing.
#10 Blushing bride
The evening soiree saw Princess Eugenie in a lovely blush-hued dress from Zac Posen, who incorporated details from the family’s White Rose of York into his creation. Created with silk from a British mill, the embroidered and draped design totally transformed Princess Eugenie’s look for her second party.
