Macau tycoon Stanley Ho's son Mario and model Ming Xi have welcomed a baby boy

Macau billionaire Stanley Ho's son Mario Ho, 24, and his wife, Chinese model Ming Xi, 30, are now parents to a baby boy, Ronaldo!

The Victoria's Secret supermodel delivered on Thursday (Oct 24) and the couple shared the news on Instagram. Photos show the new parents and their precious bundle of joy in the hospital surrounded by loved ones.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Mario said,

"My wife and I have been promoted to becoming a dad and mom! Thank you to my wife Xiao Ming! Having been through her journey from pregnancy to giving birth, I realised how much a mother has to sacrifice, and the difficulty she has to go through. 

She used to prance around, but had difficulty moving around when she was pregnant, and had to endure morning sickness and uncontrollable mood swings. All the mothers in this world really have it hard! Thank you to my wife for going through this, and for giving me a healthy and adorable baby. 

My father will  turning 98 next month. He's a Superman to me, and can do anything. He helped me to fulfill all the wishes I had as a child. But when it comes to himself, he has had one unfulfilled wish, which is to be able to hold his grandson. I'm very happy to tell him today that he has a grandson. His wish has finally come true!

As for the baby's name, our family has always followed a naming tradition according to genealogy. The second character in the Chinese name is universal across everyone in that generation, while the third character is decided by the child’s father. 

My father has said that his wealth is his gift to every child and grandchild. As for how long it lasts, it's up to them. But for his first grandson, he hopes to present him with a one-of-a-kind gift and one that can accompany him for entire life, which is his own name. 

So, we're are proud and honoured to have our son named Ho Kwong Sun (Stanley Ho’s name is Ho Hung Sun), and we hope that he will be a legendary figure who contributes to the society, just like his grandfather. 

His English name is Ronaldo, because I hope he becomes tall, handsome, talented, and earns recognition through his own hard work. 

No pressure at all, son! Once again, thank you to my wife, you’re the best and I love you!”

We're not surprised if baby Ronaldo was named after a certain footballer - from what we've gathered from his social media posts, Mario is an avid soccer fan, after all.

Ming Xi also shared the photos on Instagram, but with a shorter and no less sweet message.

The pair had initially met through Mario's sister Sabrina, then started dating after being paired up on reality dating show Mr Left, Mr Right in 2017.

In May this year, Mario got down on one bent knee with an extravagant proposal that involved 99,999 roses in Shanghai's upscale L'Avenue Mall. They registered their marriage in July.

Mario's sister Sabrina Ho also gave birth to a daughter earlier this August, and also announced she's planning to have her wedding at London's British Museum in 2021.
