THE WEDDING VENUE
The couple chose to have their nuptials in Tainan, which is the hometown of the bride's father.
A banquet was held at Tainan Art Museum, a historical spot that was formerly Taiwan's oldest police station. According to The Straits Times, the celebration was held at the open space between the Building One (which Chi-ling had favoured for its classic elegance) and Building Two of the museum instead of the former to allay fears of damage.
FIVE WEDDING OUTFIT CHANGES
From what we've gathered from pictures splashed across social media, the newlyweds sported an array of outfits for the day's festivities, with the bride donning five looks, and Akira in at least four looks.

The bride's first gown was a custom Ralph Lauren number, which she wore while going through traditional wedding rituals at an ancestral hall in the afternoon. Strings of pearly embellishments were draped across her shoulders and over a minimalist sheath. She wore her hair up in a loose wavy updo.

Chi-ling also slipped into a pink cheongsam, which is said to be a wedding gift by Taiwanese luxury fashion house, Shiatzy Chen. Exquisitely hand beaded and with floral appliques as well as lace, the design featured a Mandarin collar that edged into a V neckline.

The last look for her reception was by Malaysian high-end brand The Atelier, which featured a detachable plumed cape and a captivating glittering dress with a plunging neckline and sheer powder blue tulle layers.
And in her final look of the evening, the bride was all legs and smokin' hot in a shimmery mini for the after-party.

Taiwanese hosts Dee Hsu (otherwise known as Small S) and Kevin Tsai who are known for their variety show, Here Comes Kang Xi, also took to the stage. The pair got up to hilarious antics, including getting the bride to strike poses with Dee.
NO RED PACKETS
While it is customary for wedding guests to gift red packets, Lin Chi-ling requested for guests not to do so. Instead, Dee Hsu reportedly donated 100,000 NT$ to Lin Chi-ling's Charity Foundation.
Meanwhile, The Straits Times reported that Tainan's authorities gifted Akira's family with items that are linked to traditional marriage rites, such as oil, salt, firewood, vinegar and tea. Tainan mayor Huang Wei-cher added that the authorities are treating the wedding as though the city is "giving Lin away".
