The late Princess Grace of Monaco, or as many would know as former movie star Grace Kelly, had one of the most iconic weddings (and bridal gown, which has inspired countless wedding dresses, including Duchess Catherine’s) of all time when she wed Prince Rainier III of Monaco.

And when her granddaughter Charlotte Casiraghi tied the knot on Sunday, 2nd June, she made no less of a sartorial statement at her wedding celebration. For the ceremony, she exuded classic, feminine charm in a Saint Laurent brocade dress that had long sleeves and was embellished with three bows down the front.

Casiraghi, who is a model and competitive equestrian, is 11th in line to the Monegasque throne. She wed Dimitri Rassam, a French film producer, and the pair have a 6-month-old son named Balthazar together. Each also have a child from their previous relationships.

They’d known each other for a long time before reuniting in Paris. Rassam subsequently popped the question in 2018 with a pink diamond during a family ski trip.

In a sentimental tribute to her grandmother, Casiraghi accessorised her elegant Chanel reception gown with a three-strand Cartier necklace that came from the Princess Grace’s jewelry collection, and was a gift for her 1956 wedding.

But it may not be the only homage to Princess Grace – Casirghir’s Saint Laurent frock channels the feminine champagne and pink floral embroidered suit (designed by MGM costume designer Helen Rose) paired with a Juliet cap that her grandma wore for her own civil ceremony in Monaco.
