The couple first met at a charity football match (it was apparently love at first sight!) in 1997, in the Manchester United soccer players' lounge. Victoria revealed all in a letter she'd to her 18-year-old self for British Vogue in 2016, saying "While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family. (He's not even in the first team at this stage—you are the famous one.) And he has such a cute smile."

He's going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it)," she added.

On his part, he claims  he'd seen a Spice Girls video in 1996, before they met in person, and said to his Man U teammate Gary Neville, "'That one there, that's the girl I'm going to marry.'" Too sweet!

The golden couple announced their engagement in 1998 and tied the knot on July 4, 1999, in the Luttrellstown Castle that's located just outside of Dublin, Ireland. Gary Neville, David's Man U teammate, was the best man while then four-month-old baby Brooklyn was the ring bearer.

For her ceremony, Victoria chose a silk pleated ballgown by Vera Wang, featuring a 20-foot train and structural neckline. To top it off in true pop princess stye: a gold tiara. David opted for a full-white suit with a cravat. (See also: Did Victoria Beckham just drop a new bridal collection?)

Later, for the reception, the newlyweds rocked matching (and now iconic) royal purple outfits.

The couple have four kids, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper Seven, who also took to Instagram to wish their parents a happy anniversary (except for Harper, who doesn't have an account).
