A NEW YEAR’S DAY BEGINNING
They met on 1 January 2011, a day that Lo describes as a “lucky day indeed”. They were both celebrating with friends in a restaurant in Singapore, and Lo had spotted him (Golding) across the room. “Henry piqued my curiosity because he is tall and handsome, yet seemed really fun and down to earth,” she says. “As I was leaving, he was going to the bathroom so our paths crossed. I took the opportunity to chat to him as I had nothing to lose.” Read more about it here.
AN UNFORGETTABLE PROPOSAL
Four years after the first date, Henry proposed. “It was on our fourth anniversary – and we were on holiday in Phuket. We had the best day riding on motorbikes to temples, finding secret beaches (See: 9 most beautiful beach destinations in Southeast Asia) and eating spicy Thai food. He had booked a restaurant at sunset that ‘just so happened’ to have a string quartet playing and was serving champagne on arrival. But, I just thought he was being romantic as it was our anniversary,” says Lo. “However, we took a stroll on the rocks and he proposed at the magic hour. Unforgettable.”

AN INTIMATE WEDDING
No grand Crazy Rich Asians-style wedding for the two of them. The pair tied the knot in the elegant Cove 55 resort in Golding’s hometown of Sarawak, Malaysia. The bride wore Galia Lahav while the groom sported a custom blue tux for their dreamy garden ceremony, followed by a marquee reception lit up by fairy lights.
#teamGOLDING AGAINST THE WORLD
They might spend a lot of time apart but as Liv pointed out, it’s about the quality of the time spent. It’s not hard to see that the two are still hopelessly in love and not afraid to show it – even after 7 years together and two years after getting hitched. In fact, they just celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary a week ago. Both their Instagram accounts are peppered with awww-inducing snapshots of each other or of the pair together in various countries.

THEY THINK FOR ONE ANOTHER
In a recent interview with The View BBC, Golding pointed out, “The biggest challenge for me wasn’t the filming. It was knowing the fact that my wife had to see me falling with someone else on screen. But she came to grips with it and it was a learning process for the both of us.” Awwwww.
