We met at the wedding of one of our close friends. I was a bridesmaid and King was a friend of the groom’s. We hit it off right away. I love that he is funny and spontaneous – and always finds the silver lining in every situation. King says that he loves how driven and independent I am professionally, and grounded as well as down-to-earth in my personal life. (Also read: How 10 married couples met)

We always travel during winter, so a winter-themed wedding was apt. We chose JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach because of the Grand Ballroom’s high, vaulted ceiling. The 11,520 hanging lights reminded us of icicles. We also wanted a huge screen to showcase our pre-wedding photos and travel videos.

We had two march-ins during dinner, and my couture gowns were created by one of my best friends, Jessicacindy Hartono.

The second was an off-shoulder gown embellished with sequins, glass beads and crystals that reminded me of the breathtaking glaciers in Iceland, my favourite country. The silhouette reminded me of Disney’s Cinderella.

Waltzing into the ballroom in these floor-sweeping gowns while falling snow graced the big screen had to be my favourite part of the wedding. I also adored the romantic moments when our parents would hold hands and look at each other fondly throughout the day!
