Asian brides, 2019's hottest shade is perfect for your wedding makeup

Pantone has once again unveiled its appointed Colour of the Year and this year, it comes in a shade that dots the reefs— a vibrant pink aptly named Living Coral.  

A welcome addition to any bride's makeup pouch, the colour is known for its versatility and ability to suit all types of weddings and events. For example, a hit of the vibrant, summery shade on the lips or cheeks can create a bold and sun-kissed look perfect for an outdoor wedding, while a light tint of the shade can be also used for a more natural and innocent look that subtly enhances the features.

Said to work well with all skin tones, coral shades are a popular choice among makeup artists and brands. The warm pink works especially well on Asian skin with golden undertones, explaining the ever-constant relationship Korean makeup brands have with warm peach and coral shades.

Coral shades have also been making rounds on makeup looks for recent bridal runway shows and lookbooks, an ideal choice for the bride that keeps abreast on fashion and makeup trends.

As a sweeter alternative to the auspicious reds used in Chinese and Indian weddings, those opting for traditional ceremonies can consider adding the shade to their wardrobe and makeup for a refreshing, modern twist.

Following the reveal of the Colour of the Year, Butter London, Pantone’s long-time partner brand, announced an upcoming collaborative capsule makeup line in the shade.

The collection consists of five items in total—three nail products, a buildable lip gloss, and a crème blush stick. The nail products include two nail lacquers and a nail polish in cream, shine, and glitter finishes respectively. The champagne-scented lip gloss is said to contain a plumping formula and a high shine finish, and the cream blush stick that is supposed to moisturise and condition for firmer and more youthful skin (as stated on their website). Their beauty line is cruelty free and “formulated with a Phyto-Endorphin Complex to brighten your day”.
