A Singapore florist on the wedding trend you'll see everywhere, and choosing the perfect bouquet

With 19 years of experience, Sarah Lim of Poppy Flora Studio is no stranger to creating and delivering beautiful arrangements and bouquets for that special occasion. She shares her thoughts on upcoming floral trends, and tips for the wedding day.

"I was in advertising before I embarked on my own floral business. I was thinking of marketing my own brand after eight years of creating presence for other people’s brands. Entrepreneurship runs strongly in my family (my parents) and this is a trait that is a big part of my upbringing. I would say that’s why I do what I do now."

Blossoming trends

Trends for floral arrangements and bouquets will lean towards being more organic with lots of natural movement. The look is less structured and immaculate, and more freewheeling. That said, it's not actually a big mess of greens - just somethings that's more wild and overflowing.

Prioritise

When choosing blooms for their hand bouquets, brides should also consider the style of their gown and even their own size. This will impact the composition of their entire wedding day look.

Pick the right florist

Before selecting your florist, confirm your dates and budget, and have a discussion about the style that you prefer. You should also have chemistry with and be able to communicate well with your florist. Only hire the person whom you feel you can trust, and not micromanage him or her afterwards. (
