Nothing is more romantic then checking into a hotel in your own city. It’s indulgent, romantic and a little sexy. Whether you’re checking in for a weekend retreat or looking to explore a new neighbourhood, bookmark these new hotels and upcoming launches for your next staycay.

 

#1 Villa Samadhi 

Tucked away in the greenery of of Labrador Nature Park, this newly-opened hotel is ensconced in a twos-storey colonial building and gives off a feel of classic elegance. There are only 20 rooms, with the more upscale ones including a private plunge pool. A posh alternative to a Sentosa staycay. 

Villa Samadhi is located at 12 Labrador Villa Road. 

 

#2 The Duxton House 

Set to be a part of two restored, pre-war colonial shophouses, The Duxton House and The Duxton Terrace are the first hotels in Singapore to be part of Starwood's The Luxury Collection. The former is set to open on June 1 and will house 50 rooms while the latter will have 138 rooms and will be designed by Jacques Garcia, who was involved with restoring the Louvre and Palace of Versailles. 

The Duxton House is located at 83 Duxton Road. 

 

#3 JW Marriott at South Beach 

Rebranded from The South Beach, the new JW Marriott is a little sleeker and subdued though still oozing modern cool. New additions to the hotel include an all-day dining venue as well as an upcoming spa that will specialise in lunch-time treatments from Arometherapy Associates. 

JW Marriott at South Beach is located at 30 Beach Road.

#4 Coo Singapore 

Located at Outram Road in a four--storey shophouse, Coo houses 11 rooms with 68 beds and is more chic hostel than hotel. Its cool cat interiors include a bistro on the first level and an abstract map of Tiong Bahru made out of neon lights on the ceiling. 

 

#5 The Warehouse Hotel 

This boutique hotel, situated along the Singapore River, is all raw, industrial interiors but with all the creature comforts you could desire. There are only 37 rooms, making your stay a really intimate experience. Plus, the hotel is all about showcasing local labels, including Matter Prints, which is responsible for ikat print bedsheets seen above. 

The Warehouse Hotel is located at 32 Havelock Road.
