Celeb makeup artist: Dollei Seah's tips on looking naturally gorgeous

Jayne looked gorgeous on her wedding day! How did you create her look? 

Dollei: Jayne naturally looks fresh, flawless and youthful. We decided on a look that was light and softly glamorous -  it suited her bubbly personality and features perfectly. She doesn't usually apply heavy makeup as well, so we wanted something she was comfortable with.

Did Jayne have a particular look in mind for day and night?

She wanted natural makeup, nothing too heavy, to match her light coloured gowns. For the day, I gave her longer and fuller lashes, subtle eye colour, a soft blush as well as a lip gloss which was close to her natural lip colour. I also applied a matt foundation for a radiant and dewy finish. 

In the evening, we lined her eyes and added a smokey accent to the corners for a wide-eyed look. We finished off with a subtle flush on her cheeks and nude lip gloss. A foundation with a brightening base gave her skin a luminous glow.

What makeup and hair products did you use, and which would you recommend?

I used Lancome makeup and Redken hair products. Lancome's La Base Pro Hydra Glow Primer and the Mat Miracle Liquid Foundation gives a luminous complexion and has great staying power. It also ensures that skin stays hydrated throughout. The Blush Subtil Rose has four shimmery shades to highlight the cheeks and the Lip Lover cream gloss gives a natural, lasting lip tint.

For her hair, I used Redken's Fashion Eaves 07, a texturising sea spray that added volume to her hair for easier styling. The Wind Blown 05 is a great dry finishing spray that gives locks texture.

We noted that she had an outdoor solemnisation. Any tips on preventing a makeup meltdown in our tropical climate?

Avoid using dark colours on eyes and lips. Less is more. 

Any tips on preparations the night before to get Jayne's fresh-faced glow?

Exfoliate your face for smooth skin and use a hydrating mask. This helps makeup glide on easily and last longer the next day.
