Scheduled to open in 2025, a brand new experience will be open at Mandai – this time round, it’s accommodation called Mandai Resort near Upper Seletar Reservoir, managed by Banyan Tree Holdings.
Designed by WOW Architects, the 495,000 sqf resort is designed to be carefully integrated into the existing attractions and forest. Their design aims to immerse guests in the surrounding nature, as well as encourage them to care for the environment and wildlife.
The resort features 338 rooms, including 24 elevated treehouses that take the form of a seed-pod. Comfortably nestled amongst the trees, these treehouse pods are a private and intimate setting, perfect for honeymooning couples!
Each room is almost like a veranda – with retractable blinds, guests are able to open up their room completely for natural ventilation.
Besides that, guests will find several specially curated programs like unique animal encounters, and can also embark on a self-guided discovery walk and nature trail on the rooftop garden! Feel a little warm? They can take a dip in the rooftop pool, too!
Aiming to be Singapore’s first Super Low Energy resort, the site’s design will incorporate a slew of energy saving measures, such as natural ventilation, using solar panels and mixed mode air-conditioning.
On top of that, the architects have made a conscious effort to have the building give back to nature, more than it takes away, by retaining over 50 per cent of the trees, and planting 2 times more trees.
