We’re already more than a quarter way through the year, and as usual, the trends are shifting for the summer season. So if you’re feeling bored by the clothes you have available, you won’t get any judgement from us – we completely understand.

That’s why you need a shopping trip. Yes, a trip dedicated to updating your closet because really, clothes matter.

Whether you’re looking for a quick trip over the weekend, or a longer holiday to unwind and relax, we’ve got a range of options for you. Best part? They’re all pretty affordable, leaving the bulk of your money to be spend on the star of the trip: Your shopping.

1. Bangkok, Thailand

How could we not start with the city of cheap #loot pictures that pepper Instagram? Most of us would be familiar with the appeal of Bangkok – the #diediemusthave coconut ice cream, the incredible massages and best of all, how cheap everything is. So if you’ve yet to save up to warrant a massive shopping trip, don’t worry! There are plenty of hotels (especially if you travel with friends, hint hint!), plenty of night markets to patronise, and of course, plenty of good food to be had for an affordable fee at Bangkok.

Flights to Bangkok start from $198.

2. Hong Kong

Ah, Hong Kong. Land of good food, incredible nightlife and of course, some of the best shopping. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to indulge in luxe brands or simply want some affordable labels to update your closet with, Hong Kong is abound with options – so much so that you might need someone to hold you back! (The same could be said with food, too.)

3. Beijing, China

For those of you who have been to Beijing, you’ll know just how fascinating this city is. On one hand, it’s developed into a cosmopolitan city worthy of headline news; and on the other, it’s a city steeped with history, whether it’s the Forbidden City or Tiananmen Square. So for those of you who’d love a thrilling story behind that Instagram post, Beijing is a great city to visit. Plus, there is an abundance of shopping streets and malls in Beijing waiting to be uncovered, and bonus? It’s a cheaper alternative to Hong Kong!

4. Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

When you think of Ubud, shopping probably doesn’t come to mind, but there’s a reason why this is on our list. Unplug from the buzz of the city and wind down, while you shop for cosy and #hipster furniture for your home, bought straight from artist galleries in the cultural city. Of course, a relaxing and slow trip like this can’t be done over a normal weekend. Good thing there’s a long weekend coming up soon, right?

5. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Of course, there’s always our neighbour across the causeway. The Malaysian Ringgit might have strengthened against the Singapore Dollar, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still reap some savings from a nice shopping trip there! With malls like KLCC and Pavillion Kuala Lumpur, you won’t be strapped for choice at all.

The best part? Being so close to Singapore, Malaysia is definitely an easy and versatile trip to plan. Take a road trip, or fly quickly by plane, it’s all up to your preference. So whether you’re strapped for time, or want a longer break, there’s definitely a way for you to squeeze some shopping in there.

Flights to Kuala Lumpur start from $80.
