Whether your mum is the type who loves a lavish multi-course brunch, a relaxed afternoon tea, or something a little more unexpected, there’s no shortage of ways to make the day feel truly thoughtful. Beyond that, May stretches out into a month of weekend festivals brimming with food, music, and local talent; intimate pop-ups where you might just find your new favourite brand or hidden gem, and evening events that give you a proper reason to step out and stay out.

The three-day festival promises to cater to attendees of all ages and interests, split into two distinct experiences over the course of the weekend. The first two days will be dedicated to family-friendly fun, featuring a lineup of games, live performances, and outdoor movie screenings for the young and young-at-heart. Thrill-seekers, on the other hand, can look forward to challenges like a treasure hunt around the park grounds, a talent show spotlight, and even competitive events like arm-wrestling and tug-of-war.

But the real highlight arrives on the final day (May 3), as Cosford Container Park transforms into a must-visit destination for devoted BTS fans. This ARMY-centric celebration will be packed with immersive experiences catered to the global K-pop phenomenon, including BTS-themed trivia, a market and trading zone where you can get your hands on exclusive fan-made goods, and photo zones. New Balance 204L pop-ups (now till 30 April)

If you’ve been eyeing the new 204L, now’s your cue to finally check out. While the silhouette isn’t entirely new per se, the brand has introduced new colourways for you to add to your rotation. As part of its launch, New Balance will be hosting a series of in-store experience across three stores, namely, CHAMBER, New Balance ION Orchard, and New Balance VivoCity, where you can redeem and personalise your own notebook, pick your own NB planter, or curate your own scent pouch – all of which are redeemable with any purchase of the latest 204L sneakers.

The New Balance 204L pop-up is located at CHAMBER, New Balance ION Orchard, and New Balance VivoCity.

It’s a Capy Celebration (3 April to 3 May)

If your TikTok feed has been taken over by capybaras, here’s your chance to meet them IRL. River Wonders is celebrating the 100-day milestone of its capybara pup, Ollie, in the month of April with a series of themed activities.

Happening on selected dates from now till 3 May, the Capy Crew Trail invites you to explore the park while learning more about these famously chill creatures. Pick up a Capy Trail Fan Card at the entrance, follow the trail across different stations, and uncover fun facts about their social habits, quirks and care routines. Complete the trail and you’ll even score an exclusive capybara-themed handphone strap.

While you’re there, head to Amazonia Encounters to catch the capybaras during their enrichment sessions, and hear directly from the keepers about how they care for the newest (and arguably cutest) member of the crew.

The Capy Crew Trail is located at River Wonders, 80 Mandai Lake Road
