August is shaping up to be one of the busiest and most exciting months on the calendar, with National Day celebrations on the 9th bringing the whole island together. From dazzling pop-ups and fireworks to local-inspired activities and brand-new store openings, let’s just say that you won’t run out of things to keep yourself entertained this month.

Kirin Ichiban First Press Studio (27 August to 6 September)

Need an excuse to grab a cold one after work? Kirin Ichiban is hosting a pop-up at Swee Lee, Clarke Quay, running from today till 6 September. At the First Press Studio, you’ll get to explore three distinctive artworks by local artists like Charmaine Chen of Old World Charm, Matthias Yong of Baremetal, and Gong Hua of Who Eats Art, each inspired by Kirin Ichiban’s signature First Press Method.

At the event, wander through different stations to learn more about what inspired each artwork, plus what goes into the perfect pour. After that, swing by the bar and try your hand at The Ichiban Pour, a guided experience where you pour your own pint.

The pop-up also features paid workshops over the weekend, like a Kumiko Coaster Making Workshop and a Shibori Bandana Experience, where you can make your own keepsake to bring home.

GREEN-HOUSE Festival 2026 (28 to 30 August)

In line with the Singapore Night Festival, GREEN-HOUSE — Singapore’s largest experiential sustainability festival — will bring together over 74 local brands, 45 workshops and talks, and other immersive experiences to keep you busy throughout the weekend. Exciting activities to look forward to include a six-course zero-waste dining experience by nottofu and Bricolage, beauty experiences by L’Occitane en Provence, and complimentary plant-based tastings by Oatside and Nobo. You can also get hands-on at E-VOL Studio’s Melt and Reshape Recycled Plastic Keychain workshop and rehypen’s Assembly Cassette Bag Charm workshop.

On top of that, the event is pet-friendly, so you can meet rescued dogs from Paws of JB, learn more about parrot welfare with Parrot Society SG, and shop from local brands including The Dog Grocer, Woof Living and Ollie. Don’t miss The Dog Grocer’s Pup-Friendly Chendol Workshop on 29 August, where you can make a dog-safe version of the local dessert from scratch.

Glou Glou Juice by Big Wine Freaks (29 August)

This weekend, Big Wine Freaks is throwing a big celebration where wine lovers can come together, raise a toast, and enjoy a wine-filled experience featuring over 40 different fresh, vibrant wines. The evening flows between two themed sessions — the OG Innovators and the Modernists bar station — where you’ll discover new pours and immerse yourself in a cosy atmosphere with curated soundtracks, great company, a high-energy lounge setting, and even better food.

Her World x Shopee Beauty Awards Forum 2026 (29 August)

Want to know about the latest beauty trends and standout products from the Her World x Shopee Beauty Awards 2026? We’re hosting a community forum on Saturday, 29 August, featuring two panel discussions with beauty experts and content creators, including Tiara (@tiarabean) and Wirda (@wirdaelliesa), who’ll share their expert tips and advice on what they love. Elsewhere at Armenian Street (21 August to 5 September)

While you’re exploring the Singapore Night Festival this weekend, swing by Armenian Street and the Peranakan Museum to explore immersive art installations, live performances, creative workshops, markets and community-led programmes. Inspired by Southeast Asian folklore, Peranakan worlds and fictional realms, the event brings new experiences like The Other Night — a “marketplace” of sorts where you’ll meet fortune tellers, makers and wandering storytellers, and browse a curious selection of wares from local vendors across four evenings — and The Somewhere Else Stage, where you’ll witness a slew of live performances spanning Dikir Barat, live improvisation, dream-pop Arabic music, Chinese opera, noise rock, bellydance and puppetry, by artists including Kelana Purba, Shye, The Samrah Club, Tok Tok Chiang, Krunkle, NADA, and Papermoon Puppet Theatre from Yogyakarta.

Studio Monkey Shoulder Live (1 to 31 August)

In partnership with legendary DJ and broadcaster Gilles Peterson, Worldwide FM, RASA and Offtrack, Studio Monkey Shoulder LIVE lands in Singapore for a month-long activation that transforms the city’s nightlife scene into a haven for music lovers. Throughout August, audiophiles can look forward to a rotating line-up of intimate DJ sets and high-energy headline performances from renowned artists like Denis Sulta and Moodymann, spinning everything from house to techno and everything in between. 

Whether you’re catching a late-night set at Offtrack or soaking in the atmosphere at Anti:Dote, expect immersive soundscapes and a crowd that lives for the music, while you dance the night away while sipping specially crafted Monkey Shoulder cocktails, designed to complement the eclectic energy of each night.

Singapore Night Festival (21 August to 5 September)

Back for its 17th edition, Singapore Night Festival returns to take over the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct with an extensive lineup of artworks, performances and experiences for all to immerse themselves in. Themed Myths and Legends, this year’s festival celebrates the rich heritage and storytelling of Singapore and the region, inviting you to explore hidden stories and old myths reimagined in exciting new forms. 

Highlights include Tales of Earth and Sea, a striking façade projection at the National Museum of Singapore by Indonesian collective The Fox, The Folks, and the inaugural MALAM Projection Mapping Competition, which invites Southeast Asian artists, students and collectives to showcase their work. You’ll also get up close and personal with fantastical, pterodactyl-like creatures in Birdmen by Dutch group Close-Act Theatre, who will be making their Southeast Asian debut for the festival’s opening weekend.

Dream Academy’s Choo’s Masquerade Party (14 August to 4 October)

Craving something more immersive? Dream Academy’s brand-new Choo’s Masquerade Party delivers just that. The riotously funny comedy dinner theatre experience starring Sebastian Tan (”Broadway Beng®”) and Vernetta Lopez (”Under One Roof”), written and directed by Selena Tan of Dim Sum Dolly. Here, you can expect to be pulled straight into the drama, with wild family secrets, dramatic twists, and comedic chaos playing out all around your table.

Formula 1 Exhibition (23 July to 18 October)

With the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix roaring into town from 9 to 11 October, fans can get their fix early at the F1 Exhibition. Spread across seven immersive rooms, the exhibition will take you through more than 75 years of innovation, drama, and unforgettable racing moments.

Here, get up close with iconic F1 cars, rare artefacts, over 25 race suits, more than 50 helmets, and 100+ exclusive interviews, then hop into a cutting-edge racing simulator and see what it feels like from behind the wheel. Interactive installations bring the sport’s technology and innovation to life, offering an insider’s view of what makes F1 tick.

From legendary champions to the sport’s most defining moments, this globally acclaimed exhibition puts you right at the heart of the action, including legendary cars like the 2011 Championship-winning Red Bull RB7 and the 2003 BAR Honda 005.

Light Together Bras Basah.Bugis (LTB) 2026 (1 August to 5 September)

Held in conjunction with Singapore Night Festival, Light Together Bras Basah.Bugis (LTB) 2026 is a brand-new night-time experience celebrating all things local in the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) district. Organised by HeritageSG, the event follows SNF theme, Myths and Legends, of which they’ve reimagined local tales and traditions through captivating lights and digital experiences. This includes transforming historic buildings and hidden corners of BBB into glowing, immersive zones designed to spark imagination and bring the community together in celebration of the nation’s birthday.

This year’s theme brings local folklore to life across five BBB locations: Artsplace @ Waterloo Centre, Reflection Pool @ Bras Basah MRT Station, Stamford Place, Stamford Walkway, and the National Museum of Singapore (1 to 12 August), a great excuse to rediscover our local stories in a whole new light.

CASETiFY opens at Marina Bay Sands

Just in time for National Day, CASETiFY has opened a brand-new store at Marina Bay Sands. The immersive retail space celebrates Singapore’s vibrant culture through thoughtfully curated local touches, exclusive products, and personalised services.

As part of the new launch, CASETiFY has launched Urban Resort: The Singapore Edition, available exclusively at The Shoppes, a resort-inspired capsule collection celebrating Singapore’s heritage, beloved local flavours, and easy-breezy Lion City spirit. Walter Tan’s Dreamland: The Factory (7 to 23 August)

This exhibition dives into image-making in the age of AI, blending photography, physical materials, sculpture, and AI-assisted experimentation with hands-on human craft. Through painting, embroidery, and embellishment, Walter Tan layers digital exploration with tactile detail, creating pieces that feel both cutting-edge and deeply personal.

Good Pet Fair: Kampong Edition (22 to 23 August)

Fellow pawrents are in for a real treat this weekend, as Good Pet Fair returns to Kallang from 22 to 23 August. Sit back and relax with your little ones at the free outdoor movie screening along the scenic Great Eastern Promenade. The fun doesn’t stop there. Expect free-flying demonstrations, fish competitions featuring guppies and mollies, educational booths spotlighting fascinating critters, and nostalgic kampong-style activities. Close to 100 booths will feature local and overseas pet retailers, alongside animal welfare groups. And on 23 August at 4pm, watch history in the making as they attempt to break the record for the largest Shetland Sheepdog gathering in Singapore for the Singapore Book of Records.

Pop Toy Show (21 to 23 August)

Can’t get enough of your favourite Pop Mart characters? You’re in luck. Pop Toy Show returns to Singapore from 21 to 23 August, taking over Sands Expo & Convention Centre Level 1, Halls A, B & C for three days of non-stop action. This year’s edition is extra special as it celebrates MOLLY’s 20th anniversary, with her creator Kenny Wong who will be coming to Singapore for the event. Expect booths selling merchandise from established and up-and-coming artists, event exclusives, autograph sessions and more.

SPH Career Expo (22 to 23 August)

Ready for a career reset? Whether you’re eyeing a pivot, aiming to level up, or hoping to land your first corporate role, the SPH Media Career Expo 2026 has you covered. After drawing 14,000 job seekers last year, this year’s career expo will be returning bigger and better than ever.

ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026: Singapore vs Indonesia (7 August)

Our Lions take on Indonesia for one night only on 7 August, as Singapore kicks off its ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026 campaign. Four-time AFF champions, the Lions are chasing their first title since 2012, in a group stacked with defending champions Vietnam, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste.

Tickets to the highly anticipated match are sold out, but you can still swing by the stadium to check out the exciting fringe activities, and have a closer look at the Lions’ new adidas kit that’s got everyone buzzing. 

The ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026: Singapore vs Indonesia match is located at Jalan Besar Stadium 

House of Sephora (7 to 9 August)

If you know, you know. The beauty world’s most talked-about event, House of Sephora, is back, and this time, it’s opening its doors beyond media and creators to Beauty Pass members too. For the uninitiated, House of Sephora is a beauty playground where Only-at-Sephora exclusives, First-at-Sephora launches, and the buzziest brands come together under one roof. You won’t be able to shop on-site, but you will get a first look at what’s coming from your favourite beauty labels.

Guests will also be treated to a surprise tease: Sephora is gearing up for a collaboration with Olive Young, South Korea’s largest health, beauty, and lifestyle retailer, expected to launch in early September. Aside from that, there’s plenty to do at the pop-up too: vote for your favourite Olive Young products, and check out bestsellers from beloved brands like Rejuran, Beplain, Cell Fusion C, and Manyo.

Sentosa GrillFest (23 July to 16 August)

Singapore’s favourite beachfront cookout is back for its ninth edition, running at Siloso Beach until 16 August. Since it first launched in 2017, Sentosa GrillFest has drawn close to 800,000 visitors, and this year’s edition is the biggest yet, with 42 vendors (including 18 new additions) spread across five zones.

Making its debut this year is the Omakase-Inspired Chef’s Grill, giving guests a front-row seat to live-fire techniques from a curated lineup of Singapore chefs. Also returning is Marketplace by Indoguna, offering premium, locally sourced meats, seafood, vegetables, and gourmet ingredients: pick your own ingredients and watch them cooked to order at the themed grill stations.

As the sun goes down, head to the Sunset Lounge by Asahi for golden-hour vibes by the sea, complete with DJ sets and live band performances. Oh, and pets are welcome too.
