It is with great joy and a tinge of sadness that I say this: The first herworldplus.com event – Fashion & Beauty Weekend with Sephora – has come and gone.
The team – Lili, Taina and I, and our colleagues from Marketing and Advertising Sales were there on Saturday and Sunday at Ion Orchard garnering membership sign-ups. We’d like to thank them for all the hard work they’ve put in over the last few months. It’s not easy organising such an event, as well as having to be on their feet for hours straight – as I learnt the hard way, practically limping home after the event was over.
Thank you to Sephora, too! The beauty emporium teamed up with us to offer not only discount vouchers, but makeovers to members who spent $60 or more at their store. All the women who participated looked great after Didi, Sephora’s Beauty Advisor and his team worked their magic.
Her World’s Associate Fashion Editor, Patrick Sin and Fashion & Beauty Editor, Pearlyn Tham also made special appearances in our Fashion & Beauty Challenge and 5 Looks – A Workshop. The challenge involved 5 contestants creating a look for themselves in 30 minutes while our workshop taught herworldplus.com members how to pull off a summery chic look effortlessly. All clothes were kindly provided by New Look, T.M Lewin, Levi’s and Liz Claiborne under the Jay Gee Melwani Group and makeup by Sephora, of course.
The participants for both these segments – Cassandra, Shirley, Joan, Eka, Novie, Jacqueline, Norah, Jasmine, Stephanie, Evelyn and Ching Yan were also great to work with and made great models. Everyone, including our audience of herworldplus.com members, got to enjoy food prepared by JAMS Precious Treats.
All our sponsors offered discount vouchers, making it extra worthwhile for our freshly-minted members who came to sign up using the Toshiba Notebook PCs. Many gamely posed in front of our photo wall. Their pictures will be up on Her World’s Facebook Page – the lucky woman with most votes gets to win the very same laptop.
