Are you ready to indulge in barbecued meats, copious amounts of coffee and maybe a tipple or two?

Keep Calm and Drink Coffee

Singapore has proven to be a nation that absolutely loves her coffee, so it comes as no surprise that the annual Singapore Coffee Festival is such an anticipated event. Caffeine addicts, head on down to Marina Bay Cruise Centre for a full weekend immersed in coffee.

Following last year’s success, artisanal coffee powerhouses such as Common Man Coffee Roasters, Chye Seng Huat Hardware, Symmetry, Dapper Coffee and more are returning for this year’s edition. Other than just drinking aromatic cups of coffee, you can check out the various workshops, competitions and live demonstrations by baristas. Bonus: There’s live music and children-friendly social space.

Drink National Day-inspired durian cocktail

A post shared by Nutmeg & Clove (@nutmegandclove) on

Taking references from William Farquhar’s Natural History Drawings, the cocktails at Nutmeg & Clove are National Day-inspired and includes Galangal Beer, Oh My Jasmine, Bay Side and more. Yes, all crafted with native herbs, spices, fruits and flowers.
What we would really want you try is… The King and Queen. Made with Mount Gay Black Barrel, pandan, lemon, clarified milk, toasted malacca coffee bean, durian and mangosteen, this is a twist to the Milk Punch cocktail. Durian? Mangosteen? Wild. Expect a creamy and robust flavour profile, with a subtle aroma from the pandan.

Singapasar

It’s always a good thing to support local, so get your wallets ready and head on down to the design-centric pasar malam at the National Design Centre. Returning for the third year, you can expect locally designed artisanal crafts such as furniture, apparel, bags and many more.

Of course, there will be food for when you are peckish. The whole idea is to tell stories of our Singapore identity, history and culture through these products, some of which are exclusive to the event only. A fair warning though, it is going to get reallllllly crowded so we get there as early as 10am.
