The day that we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Under Armour’s highly anticipated UA Combine Competition will be happening this Saturday on the 21st of October at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre. Following a successful debut last year, the competition is regarded as one of the region’s largest fitness competitions. Back for the second year, this year’s edition will see athletes from diverse sports and training disciplines, of which competitors will be testing their limits in a total of eight physical and mental tests devised by Under Armour‘s Global Head of Athlete Performance, Michael Watts, with each test challenging the athlete’s agility, stamina, vertical, power, endurance, strength, speed, and cognition.

Points will be earned for each completed test and athletes will be ranked according to their final result, with medals and cash prizes of S$5,000, S$2500 and S$1000 awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed athletes in both the men’s and women’s divisions respectively.

Registration for the competition has closed, but if you’re curious to watch the athletes who are participating, or you’re there to support your friends, you can purchase the tickets on the UA Combine website.

Tucked away in Joo Chiat's heritage district, a 1929 Peranakan shophouse has been carefully transformed into Rye's second boutique, seamlessly merging art, craft, and fashion while honouring the town's coastal history. The interior, skillfully blends textures into the historic space, featuring rustic clay walls, polished metal counter accents, a hand-crafted sun mosaic, and natural stone floor tiles for a tactile experience.

This Joo Chiat boutique exemplifies a collaborative spirit, where past and present artisans have contributed to its unique character. Here, the boutique also showcases design fixtures from skilled contemporary artisans worldwide, including the 'Jak and Ebony' print by Sansoni, a Tekiò horizontal lamp by Anthony Dickens, and a custom rug by local textiles design studio Tanchen, mirroring the earthy tile hues.
