4. The Scarlet

“The Scarlet doesn’t take its reputation for being a ‘vivacious and uninhibited’ luxury boutique hotel lightly. Upon checking into our room, we found the hotel’s signature Lovers’ Amenities Kit waiting on the bed. Such a pretty package with so much potential passion inside! Naturally, I dived straight in to find a single red feather, lavender-scented massage oil and other lust-boosting props – kudos to Scarlet for providing everything you need for a steamy night! I recommend shelling out extra for the premium room or suites to enjoy the milk bath with rose petals and complimentary bottle of wine. I spent an indulgent half an hour sipping the wine while luxuriating in the soothing water, accented with rose petals and a couple of drops of my favourite bath oil. Pure bliss!” – Charmaine Lee, beauty writer

5. Naumi Hotel

“The hallmark of a great staycation: You’re not at all tempted to head out even when the hotel is surrounded by great dining and shopping options. My husband and I enjoyed our night at Naumi so much that we were reluctant to leave the next day… we have the 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets to thank! But the highlight was our dinner at in-house Indian restaurant Table by Rang Mahal, where we indulged in dishes like poppadom cigar rolls with homemade dips, and tandoori tiger prawns which were nicely charred and made flavourful with homemade masala and garlic. We then rounded off our evening with a nightcap at Cloud 9, the rooftop bar and pool which offers an amazing view of the city skyline.” – Lee Xin Hui, features writer
