When you’re taking part in a golf event organized by Singapore’s number one female magazine, it’s only natural that a fashion element is incorporated in it.

After all the zany fun at last year’s Mad Hatters’ themed event, the pink theme of this year’s Her World Golf Challenge – jointly presented by Shiseido and Imedeen – saw the Tanah Merah Country Club awash in every bright variation of the hue. Tops, skirts, caps, leggings and golf sleeves… the majority of 141 participants gamely came dressed head to toe in the appropriately-coloured attire.

But even if it’s a fashion-themed golf challenge, you’d be sorely mistaken to assume that participants weren’t going to take the game seriously. Over the span of four hours, the women made their way across the sprawling greens of the golf club, and played with a quiet intensity that could rival the professionals’, never mind that it was blazing hot out. Amateur golf event, you say?

In the evening, participants adjourned back to the clubhouse for one last highlight of the day: a well-deserved dinner and the ever-popular lucky draw and prize presentation ceremony. Emcee Su-Ann Heng kept everyone in high spirits as they tucked into a buffet spread, took fun selfies at the photo booth, and Instagrammed shots of a stunning dessert table put together by Stitch X Marker Styling Studio and Crème Maison Bakery.

And then there were the prizes. This year, lucky draw winners walked away with more than $16,000 worth of goodies from Hotel Stage in Hong Kong, LG, Seiko, Nine West, Shiseido, Redken and Cobra Golf. For their efforts, the best-dressed team and best-dressed individual player were all awarded with boxes of Imedeen Prime Renewal worth more than $500 each. The biggest honour of the night went to Chia Siang Po, whose skills came out top amongst all of the players. She walked away with a trophy, a Shiseido hamper worth $300, a 2 Day-1 Night stay at a premier suite in Hotel Stage in Hong Kong, worth $1,360 , a limited edition Seiko Criteria Chronograph timepeice worth $668.80, and Nine West shades from Optic Butler worth $200. The place for first runner-up went to Christina Chong while Helen Yiu came in second runner-up.

Despite not walking away with prizes, majority of the participants left for home with big smiles: each of them took with them a goodie bag containing a Puma golf tee, an Imedeen Hair & Nail supplement, Centrum Effervescent 20s, Redken Frizz Dismiss Fly-Away Fix and a Shiseido door gift, worth more than $190 in total.

With the new friendships forged and a Friday afternoon well-spend with like-minded folks, there was no doubt that this year’s Her World Golf Challenge was yet another resounding success.
