During the Formula One race season, the best thing about this rooftop bar at National Gallery Singapore is its view – it overlooks the Padang Grandstand portion of the Singapore Grand Prix track. On the terrace, you can catch cars zooming past for the practice and qualifying sessions in the run-up to the finals.
On Sept 16, the bar is having several promotions.
Front-row seats on the terrace are limited to the first 30 people at $200++, with free-flow beverages from 5 to 9pm.
If you prefer to walk around indoors and outdoors, it is a cover charge of $100++ a person, including two housepour drinks.
If you just want to catch some trackside action from the bar, you can make reservations or walk in.

KEONG SAIK ON THE ROAD

Keong Saik Road is having a street carnival on Sept 17, where you can see street art and parkour acts in the day and attend a street party with drinks and dancing at night.
The free event is partnered with the Grand Prix, but centred on sports and energetic activities.
For example, you can break into a sweat with a Zumba fitness lesson by fitness club operator Virgin Active, or go for a parkour workshop or performance by free-running academy Superfly Monkey Dragons. All events, which will take place on the closed-off stretch of road, are free. Most events are on a first-come, first-served basis, and the parkour workshop, for example, can accommodate up to 25 people at a time.
In the evening, guests can soak up a free outdoor concert by local samba-funk outfit Motus and instrumental jazz trio DasGeFoo, followed by a street DJ party.
Caribbean restaurant Lime House is also throwing a mini block party in nearby Jiak Chuan Road, where it is located, complete with limbo contests and salsa dancing.

NIGHT RACE WEEKEND AT CE LA VI
Party in the daytime at Ce La Vi’s famous four-hour Sky High Brunch on Sept 17, where you can indulge in free-flow Veuve Clicquot Rich champagne, oysters and Asian delicacies. The view from the iconic rooftop nightclub is a bonus.
If you are looking to make merry all weekend, Ce La Vi is offering Night Race Weekend passes, which allow access to all pre-race afternoon BBQs and night-time DJ sets from Sept 16 to 18.

SKY GRANDE PRIX
Toast the high life at a series of luxurious events featuring a jewellery showcase and great views of the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Empire and Skyline are two clubs on Level 45 of the Singapore Land Tower. From Wednesday to Sept 18, they will be holding the fifth edition of Sky Grande Prix, for which you can buy one-day tickets or longer packages. The events kick off on Wednesday with Her Fabulousness, where women will get complimentary beauty services such as manicures and massages.
On Sept 17, there will be a lucky draw, where guests stand a chance to win a $5,000 diamond pendant from Infiniti Jewels. Half a million dollars’ worth of diamonds from the brand will be on display.
On Sept 18, there will be a lingerie fashion show, with the Asian premiere of the latest line by Triumph.

THE CIRCUIT AT 1-ALTITUDE
If trackside views do not cut it for you, head to 1-Altitude, where you will get a bird’s eye view of the entire Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Expect parties and activities across all three floors of the space, including at 1-Altitude Gallery and Bar (Level 63), Stellar (Level 62) and Altimate (Level 61).
Kick off the celebrations on Sept 16 with the Williams Martini Racing Party at 1-Altitude Gallery and Bar, or head over to Altimate for The Circuit party, held in association with whisky label Johnnie Walker.
On Sept 17, Belvedere presents Full Throttle in Altimate with Dutch DJ Kenneth G, with Belvedere vodka bottles going at a special price of $260++.
There will also be a Farmer’s Market at Stellar restaurant from Sept 16 to 18, featuring more than 25 vendors selling everything from artisanal gins to Italian wines.

SPACE GRAND PRIX LADIES’ NIGHT

Away from the main circuit area in downtown Singapore, a newly opened club called Space, in Magazine Road near Clarke Quay, is holding an F1-themed ladies’ night.
Unlike other clubs, which typically hold ladies’ night on Wednesdays, the compact 3,000 sq ft club hosts it on Saturdays. Women get free entry all night long, and free-flow champagne from 11pm to 1am.
The F1 theme means those with race-day passes get complimentary entry and a free drink.
Expect champagne trains brought out via a children’s mini-race car and giveaways of racing team caps and T-shirts for table bookings. Hip-hop and electronic dance music will be spun from the decks.
While most other posher parties will be enforcing a dress code, Space does not have one.

Roving international Formula One after-party Amber Lounge returns to Singapore, this time with singer Kelis performing on Sept 17 and 18.
The R&B singer, most famously known for the song Milkshake, will be joined by DJ Ono of Thai DJ collective Bangkok Invaders.
Featuring performances by international singers and DJs, fine dining, fashion and appearances by F1 drivers, it is arguably one of the most swanky VIP parties of the race weekend. It has been held here during the Grand Prix every year.
On Sept 17, there will be a fashion show featuring F1 drivers and models kitted out by Malaysian and Indonesian fashion duo Sean & Sheila and a show featuring club dancers, a saxophonist and drummers.
On Sept 18, which is race day, attendees get to mingle with F1 drivers at the post-race after-party. Past parties have seen appearances by F1 drivers such as Lewis Hamilton and former English footballer David Beckham.

British singers Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Estelle will perform at the eighth edition of Podium Lounge Singapore, one of the most glamorous parties of the F1 weekend.
Held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore over three nights, the Grand Ballroom will be transformed into a lounge hosting about 3,000 guests a night.
Ellis-Bextor will be performing alongside DJ husband Richard Jones on the opening night on Sept 16 as the duo Mr & Mrs Jones, with the pop singer on vocals and Jones on the decks.
R&B and hip-hop singer Estelle, known for Grammy-winning song American Boy with Kanye West, will close the parties on Sept 18.
Models will sashay down the catwalk on all three nights, showcasing works by Singapore label Zenchi. There will also be art exhibitions by the likes of Kumari Nahappan, whose sculptures include Nutmeg & Mace, the gigantic outdoor sculpture of a nutmeg seed outside Ion Orchard. Rare F1 memorabilia, such as a Michael Schumachersigned F1 racing glove, will be up for bidding at a charity auction.
