Relive your first date

First dates are memorable, possibly one of the sweetest moments in your relationship and usually quite affordable.  If you and bae have been together for the longest time, take the opportunity this Valentine’s Day to recreate the circumstances surrounding your first date. Whether it’s at a coffee date at a café or fun bowling session, the closer attention you pay to details e.g. what you both wore on that day, the better! You’ll be surprised by how much fun you both have.

Cook dinner together – naked

Sure, making dinner together is romantic – only if you don’t already do it every day. Take things up a notch and make it less of a chore this Valentine’s Day by cooking up a storm with your SO without your clothes on. If you’re shy, you can both just don aprons with nothing else underneath. Remember to put your kids with the in-laws first though…we don’t want things to get awkward.

Have a picnic at Botanic Gardens

Prepare a picnic spread (preferably with some wine) grab a mat and find your sweet spot at the Botanic Gardens, because we can’t think of anywhere else as cliché. If you wish to huddle with the crowd, you can plonk yourselves at the bandstand area, which will be featuring live music over the weekend as part of their Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Take ballroom dancing together

Always wanted to try your hand (or foot?) at ballroom dancing? Grab your partner and sign up for a dance class together. There’s nothing quite so intimate and sensual like it. Whether it’s the foxtrot, tango or rumba, you’ll learn to move together in sync and build teamwork. Don’t be afraid to let loose and have fun, even if you (or your other half) have two left feet.

Have breakfast in bed

Breakfast in bed is one of life’s greatest indulgences (and a major cliché). Pamper one another this Valentine’s Day by waking up early to make breakfast and then go straight back to bed to feast on your hard work together. Cuddling after breakfast optional, but recommended.

Write love letters to each other

Set aside at least 30 minutes to pen down a handwritten letter to your SO and have them do the same for you. Reflect on the time you’ve been together and share one favourite thing that you love most about each other.  Put those thoughts into words and write not just with a pen, but with your heart too. Then spend the next few minutes reading the love letters together.

Wear matching couple outfits together

Most couple attires are cringe-worthy, which makes them perfect for Valentine’s Day – the day of clichés. So don them on and parade proudly with your matching outfits….you get extra lol points for an Instagram upload!
