From loyal green flags to chaotic red flags and the beige flags we still can’t read, here’s our breakdown of the biggest dating “flags” in Single’s Inferno season 5 so far

Netflix’s Single’s Inferno season 5 is full of dating flags, and honestly, it’s half the reason we can’t stop watching. Between the new gamechangers entering the island, the Paradise dates, and the constant switching of interests, everyone is giving something different every episode. One moment, a contestant seems loyal and consistent. The next, they’re turning their head at the slightest bit of attention.
And let’s be real, Single’s Inferno isn’t just a dating show at this point. It’s basically a social experiment where flirting styles, emotional maturity, and mixed signals are put under a microscope. So naturally, we’re analysing every conversation, side-eye, and “I want to get to know you” moment like it’s our full-time job. From green flags who make us believe in love again, to beige flags we still can’t read, to red flags that leave viewers screaming at the screen, here’s our breakdown of the biggest dating flags of the season so far.
Green Flags
Kim Min-gee
Kim Min-gee is a green flag because she stays focused. She falls fast, sure, but when she genuinely likes someone, she puts all her attention into that one person, like Seung-il. She doesn’t play games, she doesn’t waver, and she doesn’t entertain unnecessary options just to stir up drama. Whether it’s confidence or loyalty, you have to respect the clarity.
Lee Seung-il
At first, it did seem like Lee Seung-il was open to getting to know Choi Mina Sue when she showed interest in him, which is honestly valid since it’s only been a few days and everyone’s still figuring things out. But at the end of the day, he still chooses to stay loyal to Kim Min-gee and continues pursuing her because she has been the one showing him the most attention and interest. And clearly, he appreciates that.
Lim Su-bin
Lim Su-bin gives major green flag energy because he knows his worth. When Choi Mina Sue made it obvious that she was also interested in other guys despite him showing interest in her, he didn’t waste time overthinking. He did a full 180 and started focusing on people who were clearly more serious about him, like Park Hee-sun, who has been into him since day one. It reads like emotional maturity, not ego.
Park Hee-sun
From the start, Park Hee-sun knew exactly what she wanted, and it was Lim Su-bin. The moment they met, her eyes were only on him and she was consistent about it. It’s refreshing, especially in a show where everyone changes their mind every ten minutes.
That said, her one slightly questionable moment was when she admitted that Su-bin caught her attention because he looked like her ex. Like… that is honestly the worst thing you can say to someone you’re trying to pursue. But overall, her loyalty and straightforwardness still feel very green flag.
Beige Flags
Kim Jae-jin
Kim Jae-jin is honestly an oddball in the best way. He has his quirks, from the way he walks to the way he talks, and his humour is just naturally funny without trying too hard. He’s calm, composed, and surprisingly charming in a way that makes you smile without even realising it. Definitely not a red flag, just very “interesting vibes, can’t fully read him yet”.
Youn Hyun-jae
Youn Hyun-jae has always expressed interest in Lee Joo-young, and the issue is not that he’s loyal. It’s that he doesn’t seem open to getting to know anyone else at all, even though he hasn’t even gone on a proper date with her yet.
Some might argue Kim Min-gee is doing the same thing, but the difference is Min-gee actually went on dates and pursued Seung-il after spending time with him. Meanwhile, Hyun-jae barely bats an eye at anyone else. It feels less like commitment and more like tunnel vision.
Lee Sung-hun (Samuel Lee)
Lee Sung-hun has always expressed interest in Choi Mina Sue. Beyond just her looks, he seems to find comfort in the fact that she can speak English with him naturally. With her background studying in the US and him living in New York City, their conversations feel easy, and that clearly matters to him.
At the start, he looked like he genuinely wanted to pursue her. But Mina Sue made it clear she likes having him around as company, and it feels like she’s putting him in the friend zone… or at least keeping him as emotional support. She confides in him a lot, and sometimes it comes off like he’s being used as a convenient shoulder to cry on.
One quirky thing about Lee Sung-hun though is that he’s very Gen Z coded. He calls everyone “bro”, especially Mina Sue, and his mannerisms feel very westernised, like he’s talking to his guy friends even when he’s flirting.
Red Flags
Choi Mina Sue
Let’s be real, Choi Mina Sue has been one of the most controversial characters this season, but we’re also kind of living for it. Ever since she made her entrance in that highly talked-about yellow Zara dress that had everyone turning their heads, it was basically game over for the guys.
A lot of them were instantly drawn to her looks and charm. But as the episodes progressed, things started going south because she has expressed interest in not just one, but around four guys (and counting) within just five episodes. It’s honestly hard to keep up.
The biggest issue is that whenever a guy expresses interest in her, she’s quick to turn the other way. So naturally, many of the contestants (girls included) are confused about what she actually wants, because she comes across as fickle-minded.
That said, because the show is filmed over just a few days, she might genuinely just be trying to explore her options before settling on one person. So while she is giving red flag energy right now, it could also just be her trying to make the most of her short time on the island.
