Singapore’s arts scene has done us proud, as always.

The Nescafe Dolce Gusto Asian Design Contest at Tokyo Design Week is over, and Singapore design student Anggraini Halim Susantio has emerged in first place in the design contest.

The Nescafe Dolce Gusto Asian Design Contest, which was held from October 14 to 26 2013, saw sixteen finalists from different eight countries design a skin for the Genio Automatic System- Nescafe’s automatic coffee machine.

Susantio, the Year Two student from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts’ (NAFA) design garnered the highest number of Facebook votes racking up an impressive 1,853, thus winning the contest. Her design of a futuristic coffee machine in electric blue and black will be produced as a limited edition Genio Automatic System to be sold across South East Asia in 2014.

Year Two Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts student Jovan Yeo clinched third place in the competition, gaining 1,012 votes for his traditional and modern fusion design of the coffee machine.
