Hoshino Coffee

Hoshino Coffee will permanently close two of its Singapore outlets by the end of August. United Square will serve its last customers on Aug 23, followed by Chinatown Point on Aug 31, while another outlet is set to undergo renovations. The closures will leave the Japanese coffee chain with three operating outlets for the time being.

Pantler

Cult-favourite Japanese-French patisserie Pantler is set to close on Aug 30, unless it finds a successor to take over the business. Founded in Telok Ayer in 2014 before moving to River Valley in 2021, the bakery is known for its elegant cakes, pastries and desserts.

Fika Swedish Cafe And Bistro

Encore by Rhubarb

Casual French restaurant Encore by Rhubarb in Duxton Hill closed after 12 years, with chef Paul Longworth announcing the decision on May 26. The restaurant was known for its approachable French fare and neighbourhood bistro setting.

Working Title

Working Title officially closed on April 30, with the cafe pointing to the unforgiving nature of the F&B industry. The closure came just a month after it simplified its menu as businesses continued to grapple with the challenges of breaking even.

Tarte by Cheryl Koh

Popular local tart specialist Tarte by Cheryl Koh closed its Shaw Centre and Raffles City outlets on April 26, ending an 11-year run. Founded in 2015, the patisserie built a following for its fruit tarts, seasonal specials and other confectioneries.

From places that have been around for a decade to those that have fed Singaporeans for generations, there are plenty of familiar names on this list. If your favourite is still open for a few more weeks, there’s still time for one last visit.
