Now that you’ve voted for your favourite men of 2012, it’s time to predict who the big stars of 2013 will be. Not only have these fine young men made us sit up and take notice of their star potential, they’re quite the sight for sore eyes too. See who we’re putting our money on to make it big this year.
Move over Elijah Wood, this Irish bad boy is stealing the “hot hobbit” title from under your nose! Best known as the ruggedly sexy vampire in the BBC TV series Being Human, his mysterious air and dangerously good looks certainly give new meaning to the phrase “tall, dark and handsome”. Recently seen as the dashing Kili in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Turner will be reprising the role this year in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. But what we’re really looking forward to is watching him turn werewolf for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones; also opening this year. We bet it’ll drive us wild.
He may be the younger brother of the award-winning multi-hyphenate James Franco, but Dave has given audiences more than enough reason to stop being labelled James’ little brother by showcasing his talent in a mix of TV and movie roles — think Scrubs, Superbad and Fright Night. Last seen as the hilarious high school drug-dealer in 21 Jump Street, we like how Dave doesn’t limit himself to acting and writes and creates shorts for a series on comedy site Funny or Die. With those handsome features and eyes like pools of maple syrup, we have a feeling we’re going to be seeing a lot more of this hottie around.
What he lacks in height he makes up for in talent and charm. Standing at 1.7m, the Hunger Games star may be considered short in Hollywood but is definitely not short on the sexy front. Grabbing the audience’s attention as Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games last year, this fetching young man looks set to hit headlines yet again in its sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Honestly, just looking at that masculine jaw and piercing gaze is enough to make us hungry for more goodness from this cutie.
It’s hard to compete when your brother is Thor, but the youngest Hemsworth brother has earned his fair share of accolades and recognition as well; not the least of which is Miley Cyrus’ hand in marriage. With three films of his own to anticipate this year — Paranoia, Empire State, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire — it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this blue-eyed boy will be making quite a name for himself in Tinseltown.
You may remember him as the gorgeous man who fell in love with a mermaid in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, or as the (still gorgeous) Duke’s son in Snow White and the Huntsman. This year, keep your eyes peeled for when this dapper British gentleman takes on the coveted role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. That, and his cheeky smile, should place Claflin among Hollywood’s hottest young actors, but just in case that wasn’t enough to convince you, we should probably mention that he also made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Hollywood list.
