Paul Rudd says spending money on clothes doesn’t mean people will look good.

The American actor stars in upcoming comedy Our Idiot Brother alongside Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer. The 42-year-old plays an idealistic man called Ned who wreaks havoc in each of his three sisters’ lives.

Paul wears a lot of unsavoury garb in the film, and says the look is easily achievable.

“You don’t need to spend a lot to look horrible,” he laughed in an interview with USA Today.

Paul kept his character’s colourful wardrobe when filming wrapped. The actor was quite attached to the attire, but ended up looking ridiculous when wearing it in his day-to-day life.

“I took home a lot. I kept a fair amount of the clothes,” he revealed.

“I hate tie-dye, it’s so gross, but there was one shirt I wore in the movie — I wore that shirt. I looked like such an [expletive] walking around my neighbourhood.”

Paul’s co-star Rashida Jones says he had no qualms with looking far from dapper. She was impressed with how the comedy star embraced the awful apparel.

“His tank-tops-and-shorts combos were so disgusting. But Paul had no shame. The more Crocs, the better,” she quipped. – © Cover Media
