Ewan McGregor thinks wearing a cap and shades is the worst celebrity disguise.
The 41-year-old found fame in iconic movies such as Trainspotting and Moulin Rouge!
During the Cannes Film Festival, the Scottish actor was spotted wearing a wide-brimmed hat, but Ewan insists he wasn’t trying to hide from the paparazzi or fans.
“I wasn’t in disguise,” he told British newspaper The Guardian.
“I’d just been given a really nice hat. So I thought I’d wear it. I think if you put a cap and a pair of shades on in an airport, of course everyone’s gonna look at you.”
For many stars, losing their private lives is the one downside of a successful career.
Ewan takes the attention in his stride and accepts it as part of being in the limelight.
“I’m not worried about it,” he asserted.
“I don’t feel like it’s a curse. If you’re gonna be on TV and film, and expect people to watch you, of course they’re gonna look at you in the street. What else would they do?”
It’s lucky the Star Wars actor has such a relaxed attitude, as his popularity doesn’t look set to die down any time soon.
His latest venture is The Impossible alongside Naomi Watts and Ewan also stars in Jack the Giant Slayer, which is due for release in the New Year.
