David Beckham is “excited” about his bodywear line for Swedish retailer H&M.

The high street brand is famed for its A-list collaborations, having boasted lines from creators such as Sonia Rykiel and French fashion house Lanvin in the past.

Soccer star David is the latest collaborator, and is set to unveil a men’s bodywear line with the store in February next year.

The handsome sportsman is thrilled about the project, and cannot wait to show off his creations.

“Over the past year, I’ve been developing my Bodywear range with my team and I’m extremely positive about what we have designed and produced,” he enthused.

“The final piece in the jigsaw was a retail partner who has the vision and capability to distribute these products globally. In H&M we have found the perfect partner to collaborate with going forward, I’m excited and looking forward to showcasing the range to H&M customers from February.”

It is expected that the line will go on sale on February 2 next year, with an eye to capturing the Valentine’s Day market. The collection will be on sale in 1800 H&M stores in 40 countries worldwide.

Simon Fuller, David’s business partner, is equally enthusiastic about the project, which is expected to be a long-term distribution partnership.

“This partnership with H&M is an important step in the evolution of David’s journey from sporting hero to entrepreneur and icon” he is quoted as saying by Vogue.

“H&M’s enthusiasm and support for this venture, combined with their scale and reach, will continue to enhance the power of David’s image around the world.” © COVER MEDIA
