Dating can be a really expensive past time in Singapore – but that doesn’t mean you have to stay in for the week before pay day. These ideas are just as good as the normal dinner/drinks/movie options, but are all absolutely FREE!

Walk amongst nature

With so many pretty green spaces in Singapore, a lesiurely stroll (or hike!) makes for a great first date. We recommend Fort Canning Park, Botanical Gardens, Keppel Island and Southern Ridges.

Bond over some furry friends who are in much need of some extra love and TLC too. There are various animal shelters to visit at Pasir Ris Farmway such as Animal Lovers League and Oasis Second Chance Animal Shelter. Just make sure they’re prepared for your visit as unexpected arrivals can upset the animals there. Oh, and make sure your date doesn’t have any fur allegies!

Get cultured for nothing by taking in a free performance at Esplanade’s waterfront performance venue; complete with the Merlion and financial district in the background. Also, check out some of the unique art installations at the concourse.

Watch a movie under the stars

Moviemob.sg offers free outdoor movie screenings at various public places around the island – from rooftops, parks to Marina Barrage, with the glimmering bay as the backdrop. How romantic.

Get romantic at Gardens By The Bay

Nothing beats an insanely beautiful setting to make you feel like you’re on an adventure. Be captivated by these majestic vertical gardens without paying a cent. Why not head down to the grassy verge for the 7 45pm and 8 45pm night light shows – these are truly spectacular.
