Prada is gearing up to create its third mobile phone.The Italian fashion house has re-signed its contract with electronics company LG.

The new handset will be state of the art, boasting a large high-resolution display. It will also be thin, but comes at a price.

Prada stores will be taking pre-orders for the phone over the Christmas period, with it retailing at 650 euros. The handsets are expected to make their way to customers at the beginning of next year.

“The partnership between Prada and LG has always been characterised by an innovative approach, with no compromises in terms of style, design and new technologies,” Prada chief executive officer Patrizio Bertelli told WWD.

It’s a busy time for the iconic fashion house, which is headed up by creative director Miuccia Prada.

Paris Couture Week runs from January 23 to January 26, and the company is preparing to make it extra special.

The firm’s store on Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris is undergoing a redesign and will be officially launched during the festivities.

Prada also has plans for something called 24 Hours Museum, which is a collaboration with Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli. Details of the project remain unknown at the moment. © COVERMEDIA
